I’m sorry I know this has probably been discussed already. Does anyone know what all the options are for mud flaps? I do know a few.
1. Ford Factory molded
2. Ford Gatorbacks $$$ no thanks
3. Rockblocks
????
I was wondering if there are other options like Weathertech or Husky yet because I can’t find any? I’m partial to Husky because of how they fit.

I had the factory molded but ended up replacing them with RokBlokz. They have better coverage, especially in the rear, and no potential to rub paint off like the molded ones can.

ROkbloks tend to be the favorite. A bit pricey but the protection is good. you get to also pick some different colors and such which is cool.

Get the Rockblokz, you won't regret it (other than the price). I had the OEM ones and didn't care for the fit on the fenders.

Anything like the Ford OEMs will rub your paint. I went with Rokblokz.

They're good, but damn expensive for what they are.

Are these mainly to protect paint? Vehicles behind you? Both?

Was thinking bout adding them bc I tow a boat and if I kick up a rock it will be going right towards the hull.

If you don’t want the paint rubbing Ford molded flaps, Google universal mud flaps. Many more choices for lots less money. It’s just flexible plastic afterall.

All of these reasons. Additionally, if you look under your truck you'll find that just behind the rear fender wells there are cavernous spaces where mud, water, gunk, salt, etc. will collect and eventually rust out the sheet metal of the bed and side panels. Mudflaps will (hopefully) prevent this from happening. I took the additional step of spraying a rust inhibitor on all of these surfaces.

The cavernous space is only on the driver's side. My RokBlokz help but do not prevent intrusion. So I purchased another bed storage cubby and installed it on the driver's side. It definitely helps but the real solution is to make a shield to block off the area. The passenger side has a shield so no concerns there.
There is another MTC member that built a shield and it seems to work just fine.
