Using a tablet or cell phone, like Apple, their charger with questionable cord? That may be it.I lose communication with my TPMS Sensors about every other day... 1 or 2 or all go out... then magically appear the next day or so ...
If you meant you just bought your truck, that's pretty likely the actual pressure. My Mav and many others were delivered with 40+psi. Apparently they overfill the tires for shipping, and the dealer is supposed to adjust it, but don't.Picked my truck up from the dealer three days ago. Checked the TPM today and it said 40,40,40,39. Will try to check tomorrow with several gages to see if there is any agreement.
The mobile tech who did my software dump warned the TPMS system might be affected. He didn’t have his sensor “clicker”. I took truck to closest Ford dealer, they did it at no charge.I lost trust in the TPMS when the Ford tech came to do the taillight recall. I had been monitoring the pressures and they all showed good. As part of the recall apparently they have to recalibrate the sensors (I suppose because the BCM computer is reset?). As soon as I got in the truck after he left, the low tire warning showed up, and I had to put 5-6 psi into each of them.
Has anyone else experienced this?
My opinion of the TPMS can be summed up as follows: "It's the BIG ticks on the measuring tape!I've had the truck onscreen TPMS read different pressures on two consecutive days, when my manual gauges didn't change more than a pound.
Not sure if the onscreen TPMS reading is very accurate or not. It is very handy though, to give a ballpark pressure reading. If one tire consecutively shows much lower than the others, I check the TP.
This is due to rounding to the nearest pound. For instance, one day a tire is at 34.5 PSI and shows as 35 PSI on the screen. The next day is slightly cooler and the actual pressure goes down 0.1 pounds to 34.4, and the screen shows 34 pounds.I've had the truck onscreen TPMS read different pressures on two consecutive days, when my manual gauges didn't change more than a pound.
That's probably true but it still doesn't explain the 3 to 4 #s difference between the TPMS and several other gauges (I tried at least 3 on the same day, same session... the TPMS was consistently low)This is due to rounding to the nearest pound. My truck was over pressure. I adjusted it later. Have a compressor in garage. Use it often. Wife says her Escape tires look low…so I put the gauge on it to satisfy her. Told her not to hit holes or objects on the road, makes tires bleed off air. Seriously, they won’t but she the one who gets the flats!!If you meant you just bought your truck, that's pretty likely the actual pressure. My Mav and many others were delivered with 40+psi. That's true, but mine is never that far off compared to my gauges. That's probably true but it still doesn't explain the 3 to 4 #s difference between the TPMS and several other gauges (I tried at least 3 on the same day, same session... the TPMS was consistently low)
