Worst rust I ever had was on a Toyota truck. Too bad, the engine was still good. I gave it away.Much of that goes back to the anti rust coating applied at the factory. Toyota Tacoma's from like 04 - 10 - their frames rusted out like swiss cheese due to the lack of effective coating and they had to replace thousands of frames in a class action lawsuit.
Early Toyota trucks didn't have any because they don't use salt in Japan on the roads so Toyota didnt even think to have to use a zinc coating ...... until the trucks started crumbling.....Worst rust I ever had was on a Toyota truck. Too bad, the engine was still good. I gave it away.
Was wondering about the spare they tend to rust pretty badly. ThanksI did Fluid Film myself in my driveway, not perfect but anything helps! I know you mentioned that it's harder for you to get under the truck yourself though. Any sort of oil or wax coating will still work (Fluid Film is lanolin wax). Whatever option you choose, make sure to juice down the spare tire too, especially around the bead!
Looks very nice mind sharing the cost?Just had mine done with black wax undercoating. Excellent coverage on undercarriage and panels.

$900 with tax, lifetime warranty. More than I wanted to spend but plan on having this truck for a long time. Living in Maine, I think this will greatly prolong the life.Looks very nice mind sharing the cost?
helps if you have a 2 post lift.Wish I was 10 years younger to be able to do that. But always hated being under a car. Esp exhaust systems.
Now that would be nice.helps if you have a 2 post lift.
