The Maverick has the EcoBoost in it.
Good, I am going to do next oil change with that then.
Thanks
It confused me your nameplate said ecoboost but you pasted a page from the hybrid oil section, and you bought oil that "technically" goes with neither! But in "reality" will be fine for both for one time use. No need to throw it away or give it away. Since you got 20 instead of 30 for your Ecoboost, if you have the choice, use the 20 during the coldest months and switch to 5w-30 for the summer months. Ford says 5w-30 is suitable for all seasons.

Well we should look at the bright side. They did put "oil" in it! Wouldn't be the first time someone had an oil change done and there was a leak or there was no oil put back in the vehicle after it was drained.

My dealer gives the two free oil changes thing too.

Only I didn't read the fine print.

They put 10 quarts in mine (almost).

First, usually the person changing the oil is definitely not a teck! second,i doubt you will ever know the difference in 10w 30 and 5 w 30.yes ,10 % of the people do need 5 w30.depends on where you live, how you drive and if you haul alot of tools or pull a heavy trailer alot.just my opinion,so give me heck,im used to it🙃
In the old days, yes am old, I worked for a Highline dealer for almost 40 years we used drum oil in every model, they all got the same oil, it was easy no cars blew up from oil problems, don't think dealers are using drum oil anymore with all the grades now, could be wrong been out of shop for 10 years. What I would look out for is overfilling on my first Maverick an ECO 22 FX4 at 2k am a firm believer of getting that break-in oil out early the young man put 6qts in I think, it was 1/2 inch over on dip stick, ALWAYS CHECK YOUR OIL AFTER A CHANGE, LET IT SIT over NIGHT AND CHECK IT COLD, I returned to dealer and they corrected the problem and blamed the kid and gave me a free car wash ticket, that I never used.
They know me at my dealer, I always bring a doz donuts, walking in I heard an advisor say here comes the donut guy, donuts go a long way. I also made them one time change my inspection sticker, the young man {kid] just stuck the sticker on crooked, it should be lined up with the registration sticker. Always be polite and bring donuts, when I go now, I always get one of their best technician's even for oil changes, no more kids.

I took snip-it of the oil spec from that post and not from my manual.
I do have the 2.0 EcoBoost.

My Ford dealer in Gaylord Michigan is using drum. I could here that pump when oil was put in.

In our neck of the woods it was preferably 10w40, It could be used in almost anything. but 10w30 was ok for big V8s that didn't have to work hard. And we'd often use 20w-50 in 4 cylinder imports (or worn out domestics) . In North Florida straight 30 weight was acceptable year round for those who didn't want to spend the extra money as long as it met the standard (which was SE at the time)

But when in doubt, just use 10w 40. We couldn't go wrong with 10w40😅

If you feel they did you wrong, demand they change the oil and filter again using the right oil.

For a complimentary oil change they are always going to use conventional oil. Motorcraft 5-20 comes in a conventional oil. Motorcraft 0-20 only comes in synthetic blend or full synthetic. So of course the dealer is not going to use that.
When I took my '24 Maverick Hybrid to the dealer for my first complimentary oil change the dealer was going to use motorcraft 5-20 conventional. I said no, the engine is supposed to have 0-20 full synthetic. So they charged me $19 a quart for 6 quarts and only filled it to the middle of the hash mark on the dipstick. I went back and told them to fill it to the top line.
They also did a tire rotation for $40 and of course forgot to put the wheel lock key back in my truck. So I had to go back. Then the service manager was actually foolish enough to ask me to review the service they did! Haha.
Next time I'll go back to doing it myself.

NO!
They sold you a vehicle, the deal including a free oil change.
They are obliged to use the oil specified IN THE OWNER’S MANUAL!!!
There is absolutely NO reasonable argument to use otherwise!
Grrrrr!
