What's your Maverick's name / nickname?

Calling mine....GetDaFuggOuttaDaWay! and having it painted in the front of the hood mirrored so you can read it in your rear view mirror! Or I might call it Martha after my favorite lady...Martha Focker.

My sister has named all my cars I've ever owned (with me asking her to). There was Binky, then there was Rizzo, and then there was Ambrosia. I had to beat her to the punch this time. I had a custom license frame made before I told anyone I ordered my Maverick. My cactus gray will be named Goose.

OK. Most of my vehicles have had names. I am an old buzzard who just ordered what will be my first new 4 wheeler with this Maverick. (I have had 5 new motorcycles) Most of my cars have been rescue dogs that I paid $0 to $500 for, then spend way too much to keep them alive. Usually, I name them based on a part of the previous owners name, and part of the vehicle name.

In the past several years, I have had:

Asthma 1997 Aspire formerly owned by Ms. Massi (as +ma = Asthma)
Beauford 1979 Estate wagon owned by the Fords (Bu + Ford = Beauford)
Cory 2001 Camry owned by the Coles (Co + ry = Cory)

So, Maverick plus part of my last name Whi (Ma + Whi = Maui)

I know, pretty stupid. My honey has always leased a new car for trips to far away places.

I call mine "Maverick" or "the Maverick." Sometimes I use its nickname: "truck."

I have picked names then discarded names then picked more names. Right now I think I'll just go with Maverick. Until something else better comes to mind. I'll probably know more when I actually get my truck.

I have a Cyber Orange Maverick. I am calling her Morrita Naranja. A basterdized way of saying Little Orange Girl.

UPDATE: I decided to just simplify and go with Naranjita. Which is a little orange. And something that can be put a personalized plate.

I love all the names here! I like naming my vehicles too. It just takes me a while to really cement something. Since I ordered HPR color I'll probably be going somewhere with that, but I also am in a Viking groove with life. Might name it Rollo or Sigurd or something

Haven't thought of a name for the Mav yet, but my first car was a 2002 Impreza (bug-eye). I like the design, but many of my friends thought it was ugly. So, I named her 'Nela' after the titular character in Marianela.

That just sounds too simple! Haha. I dunno. My current 05 Ranger is named Miles. (although low miles since it has 99k).

My first ranger was just Little R since I couldn't think of anything better and I thought it was cute.

Idea: Those of you who are thinking of naming your Maverick in honour of Top Gun might consider the name "Cruise." Think of it. You could say, "I'm going Cruisin' " or "I'm taking the Cruiser" or even "I'm taking the Cruise to see my brother."

That's way better when, back in the day, Ford owners could say they were taking The Probe!
