if i had to guess it has more to do with the ALL OF THE ABOVE approach to increasing Mav production going forward. if i(Ford) offer this option than i need to punch the requisite hole(s) in the DR side door on some door panels but not others., and order different wireing harnesses with the needed connectors, that also means 2(very expensive) dies for my press machines but also introduces unwanted opportunities for putting the wrong door on the wrong vehicle. that kinda stuff slows down both the stamping plant and the final assembly plant. just stick the wireless version on the darn thing and be done. i would note that when you go to the Ford accessories site you can still get keypads from Ford ,just not as a option for your new build. we want more production and unfortunately this is what it looks like.Lol they had a reason to remove it. It wasn't just to piss customers off.
Bet it's either a constraint or slowing production. If it's wireless it has to be programmed to the truck. Bet you they want to remove that step more than they care about the cost.
