I see my truck in route to my dealer and see pics of it sideways, all ways around it. Tires are as ugly as coyote ugly. I cannot wait to put new tires with some lettering on the sidewalls. It just might spruce it up slightly. Even at the cost of new tires, it is better than just being ugly.

With all the posts about people buying new Mavs then upgrading tires and the like on a brand new vehicle, I have a hard time believing the economy is bad. I suppose people want a certain look and tires are part of that but it seems that is perfectly good $$$ spent on vanity. My opinion. Others will take exception.

It's not vanity it is functionality. The OEM Continental tires are good enogh for smooth dry roads. On broken pavement/gravel roads they are not serviceable. Had the first OEM tire damage at 300 miles. Replaced all 4 with better tires based others posting similar experiences. This is what we have to deal with in the north:
Ford Maverick OEM tires 1736176864055-ok
Ford Maverick OEM tires 1736176869824-d3

I still like the look of white letter tires on particular vehicles. I understand an individual's desire to have their new vehicle Look, a specific way.
Walking up to your truck you want to look at it and say, 'damn that's a nice looking truck.' I get it.
Being old and worn out myself.
I can't justify new tires until the oems are old and wore out.
I definitely can not justify changing out perfectly good tires because of the way they look. That's me.

Which ones?

HRG
I believe it was the Goodyear Wrangler HT. I want to say the workhorse based on the tread, but I can't find a good enough video to read it all the way.

I live in SE Michigan, so I have some experience with broken pavement. I also drive on gravel roads almost daily. My Continentals have been fine!
White lettering I don’t need…

Mine came with the Goodyear Wrangler Territory HT. It looks like its a tire made for Ford that they have been putting on the F150. Tread and siping look much better than other oem tires I've had in the past. Still don't have faith that they will be as good as the Michelin Defender 2's I've been running for the last 10 years. We just got about 15" of snow with some ice underneath it and I'm planning to take them out today and see how they respond. If it would have arrived with the Pirelli's I would be looking to swap out asap, I hate those tires.

Gravel roads are not created equal. The gravel on the east side of the lakes tends to be smoother than on the west side. Same with the pavement. More schist on this side of the pond.

Yup, they’re not all the same. The gravel roads in the next country to the west of me are much kinder to tires. The crushed stone I drive on and use to maintain my road is not so nice, especially when fresh, or freshly graded, or when the county puts fresh stuff down on a frozen road to address potholes…
Regarding pavement, I’m pretty sure it’s the worst in the state around Detroit.

I had Goodyear Wranglers on my 2002 Expedition. That’s how they came from the factory. They were absolute crap. I replaced two after about 5,000 miles. At the time I liked Goodyear. When it was time for all wheel replacement, I got the same. They didn’t last long either. That’s when I switched to Firestone.

I’ve been ok with the Continentals that came on my 24 Hybrid Lariat.

Economy has little to do with all people. Some people have no problem spending the way they want on things they don't actually need, but when they do, they help the economy.

But then, people are buying the EG color maverick because of the way it looks. But with ugly black, no pizazz to them, you bought that truck because it looks good. The same with tires. Just me, but white lettered tires look better than black plain tires.
