The use case is extra margin for Ford. I'll probably open mine once to see if it works and...that's about it.

Just curious what is the use case is for such a small back slider that is manually opened except on Lariat ? Seems like the brackets to open/close & frame are larger than the actually opening- lol
I stated in another post that I will sometime need power to the bed of the truck but not often enough to justify the package with the bed power. but enough to run power through the rear widow to the power plug in the cab. frivolous yes, but for $150 I will take it.

Cuz my kids will love it and I’ve spent a ton more than $155 to entertain them in past.

The trick for me will be getting them to close it.
Do they plan on throwing Doritos out ? lol

I thought about getting the rear sliding window -- mainly for airflow.

But, after looking at the interior views I decided that -- although it might be useful part of the time -- it would obstruct my view all of the time.

There’s no telling…they might, lol!!

I do occasionally let them ride on the back on the very short and very isolated backroads around our house. And we also have a state park nearby where the park wide speed limit is 20mph.

I didn’t originally order the slider but I had to change my order anyway to get the optional wheels and tires and I thought what the heck? For $155, my kids will love it. Maybe it’ll help them think this truck is cool. They are having a hard time letting go of my custom F150.

My '89 Toyota Pickup had a sliding window and a cap on the bed. It was great for stuffing the dog in the back, throwing junk in the back, or retrieving stuff from the front when sleeping in the back. But the bed in my Maverick is really too short for sleeping, and I figure that a dog can sit in the back seat. I debated adding a sliding window, but decided against it. I suppose that some people will use a sliding window to carry long thin things that won't fit in the back, which is convenient--so I think it's good that Ford made it an option.

I can't understand why you need copilot on the xl trim to get the window.

I ordered mine with the manual window. I don’t care of it’s mostly useless. A little more air is fine by me. I would be lying if I said the sliding rear window on my Ranger didn’t act like a vacuum sucking all leaves and crap from the bed into the cab, though.

Seems there are quite a few reasons to add the rear window. Dogs love to stick their head out and say hello to all the other cars.

Must have a small headed dog to accomplish this feat -)

I can only think of a handful of dog breeds whose heads can't fit thru a 7"x11" opening.

I wonder how involved it would be to convert it from manual to power. I'm sure it wouldn't exactly be cheap, but down the road. You know, when Maverick Lariats inevitably end up in the scrap yard, may be able to source the parts somewhat reasonably. I'm hesitant to add it to my XLT build for the same reasons, I think if I could convert it to power later on, I'd be more likely to consider adding it.
From the picture I took on Lariat it looks like the motor for the window is mounted just below the window, of course you'll need wiring and a switch to go along with it the motor, but I'm sure it would be possible.
Ford Maverick Non-powered sliding window option- Why ? Lariat Alto Blue (35)
