As a Canadian I think you can be proud of your country and service, be proud to show both.
We all know political parties and politicians on all sides are liars and assholes.
I think a sticker for service and country are fine. Show your pride in what you love and what matters to you.

You do you. It's your truck. I'll give acknowledgement if I see the decals and agree, and I'll quietly laugh to myself if I don't. Those that vandalize anything they don't agree with should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

OldSoulNewMaverick & Stumblios nailed it!
So you invest $25,000-$35,000 of your own hard earned money on a vehicle and have to fear what someone else thinks or will do about your thoughts on a subject you wish to express that is not illegal. That is not politics that is more criminal.

Living in fear or allowing someone to exert control over my life would be an example of a problem with myself rather than the person I disagreed with.
Yes, that is one way of looking at it, I totally agree. Do what you want with your property!

Be the grey man. . . .
That works sometimes, but there is the saying "If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything"

All in all I thing this is going political ...I am out!

Put what you want on your truck. I have about 15 stickears on my E-150. Maybe the Bernie sticker or the gay pride subpop was the reason my valve stems were cut, twice. Or maybe it was just a bored teen. I’m not going to worry about how people react to what I decorate my van with. Though I don’t put stickers that are against things on there, just that are for things, I like to be positive.

I also don’t view the flag as patriotic. It is just the flag. I donate my time and money to improving this country and I take part in the political process from the school board on up. I view myself as patriotic. I also recognize that there is much that could be improved in our country and much that our government has done that is morally reprehensible. Anyone can waive the flag all they want, doesn’t mean they have contributed a damn thing to making US better.

BTW, the flag stuff is not directed at you as your service speaks for itself.
I like you.

My take is - I don't agree with everyone and not everyone agrees with me, but everyone has the right to display their "17 pieces of flair" any way they want. Personally, I find those who use vulgar or blatantly hateful flair or oversized flags are just being attention-seeking douchecanoes, but.. its their right, too. We all can express our likes and opinions any way we want. Others may not like it, but they should (not that they will) be mature about it.

Do what you want. It's your truck.
Douchecanoes? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:. I've never heard that before. 🤭

I don't plan on putting many on mine, and those will both be on the back window where they won't damage the paint.

One will be a play on "top gun", though I haven't decided yet whether it will be "talk to me goose" or "negative ghostrider, the pattern is full". The second will probably be a silhouette of the ship I served on.

Other than that I'll probably get the black reflective letters for Maverick and call it good.

As for others, do what works for you. The only things that actually bug me are the large flags people fly as they are distracting and potentially block line of sight, no matter what flag it is.

It's your truck, man. Do what you want.

That being said, I drove my wife's Escape a few weeks ago on a trip and I noticed a lot of aggro drivers tailgating or zooming around me and then slowing down to be a jerk (usually a giant pickup truck). It rarely if ever happens when I'm driving my own car and then it dawned on me that she had a magnetic rainbow sticker on the back bumper because she's a firm believer in equality. At the next gas station I took it off and never had another issue for the rest of the trip.

I guess you have to decide if dealing with assholes is worth it. For me, it's not.
