I am using the Opt7 on my 2025 Ford Maverick XL. It connects direct to the lighting and the Nilight strip and it works perfectly. Because it’s direct to the lights and not connected to the hitch, it does not alter any of the safety features. When you connect direct to the trailer hitch connection, it disables all of the safety sensors because it “senses” a trailer is attached.
Well I asked them about their plug and play harness prior to that email they tell me it won’t work on my 2025 Lariat AWD Hybrid - they claim to be working on a solution

Dave, unless your wiring harnesses are different than my XL, which I doubt, it should work. Have you purchased the Nilight or waiting to see if there is a solution first? If I had a Nilight in your situation, I’d try the Opt7. If it doesn’t connect to your brake light connections, that’s a quick check. Mine is working great and getting a lot of looks and people asking about it.

good luck regardless.

It is going to be a different type of plug because of the CoPilot 2.0 in the Lariat from my understanding. The CoPlilot 2.0 is going to have the longer ones with the red X as shown in the image.

I agree DJ once OPT7 told me their solution wouldn’t work on my 2025 Maverick because of the reasons you listed I decided to stand down unfortunately 🤷🏼‍♂️

Just installed the Opt7 harness. Perfect, installed easily using existing connections. $29. Lights and Nilight all work great. Installed in 10 minutes. Took longer to secure the extra cord than anything else!!!
Thank you for the

I bought a receiver-mounted LED but the standard 4-pin trailer connector results in it blinking when a turn signal is on and brakes are off, which could confuse some drivers. I have plans to connect it to the tail & high-mount brake circuits independently of the 4-pin trailer connector, but for now this remains on my to-do list at low priority. The high-mount circuit should be accessible behind the rear seat on the passenger side, as a Yellow-Gray wire in the harness. Tail/Parking lights signals are plentiful back by the tail lights.

Did you finish this project? I'd like to know how it worked.

Hello,
I have 2024 Lariat Hybrid with 2K tow.
I installed this back in November and has worked great.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DG5GH5B5?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
OPT7 Easy Connect Harness for 2022-2024 Maverick 2.0L EcoBoost Without BLIS (Blind Spot/Backup Camera/Tow Assist Sensor), Compatible with Redline LED Tailgate Light Bar (Not for 2.5L Hybrid Engine)

I also ordered Nilight single LED Taillight strip and works great.

Nilight 48”/49” LED Tailgate Light Strip 90 LED Red/White for Running Light Brake / Turn Signal / Reverse Light,2 Years Warranty

Just recently I had 3 LED's go out on this so I was trying to get another brand that had amber turn signals and that has not been working out. The 1st one disable my left taillight assembly while hooked up and upon unhooking it and restarting the vehicle the taillight assembly started working again. (This was an expensive OPT7 LED strip would have been nice).
I then tried another cheaper one with amber turns and this one disabled both taillight assemblies while hooked up, again after unhooking and hooking the Nilight back in and turning the truck on and off the taillights worked properly. I have given up trying to find ones with the amber turn signals I think that is what is causing the problem.
I am now waiting for Nilight to respond back to me for a warranty replacement for the LED's that are out and I will stick with the all red LED bar as it works good and looks good (when all LEDs are working). Hope this helps some people out.
I'm a little confused. Your profile indicates you have a hybrid, but the product you recommended specifically states that it is not for 2.5 liter hybrid. What am I missing?

Yes it does say not for Hybrid which makes no sense as that wiring stuff has no difference from hybrid or eco boost. Any Yes I have a hybrid and have this one that says not for hybrid connected since about November 2024 and had no problems. I bought it on another hybrid owners recommendation who also stated he had no problems with it. Hope this clears up the confusion.

Yes, it does. Thank you for clearing that up. I thought it odd for the ad to state "not for the 2.5L engine hybrid". What does the engine have to do with the electrical system? I mean 12v is 12v no matter the engine.
