Hi

I need new tires and wanted some advice on what tires to get or stick with OEM?

I have a 2022 Lariat Hybrid with 225/R60/18 with about 45k miles. I seem to like the Michelin Primacy. I live in Los Angeles and mostly street and highway driving. Any Thoughts. ?

If you like the Michelin Primacy tires, then just get another set. Michelin Primacy from the retail market should last longer than tires that come with the new car.

Edit:
You might want to get new tires before the raining season hit SoCal. And America's Tire should have promo going on right now, else their next promo should be X-mas/New Year time.

You have lots of choices to choose from, but if you like the Michelin's, by all means, get another set.

PS: make sure you change the valve stems when you get new tires. TPMS stems are readily available for $3-$4 dollars each and is a smart idea to replace them when you have new tires installed. Any reputable tire shop will tell you that. I picked mine up at NAPA....

I've been eyeing out the Firestone Destination A/T2

In my experience, Michelin Primacy and Defenders wear like iron and are quiet and have great traction right until they hit 2/32". Only real issue is they dry-rot super fast, so at a little over 11k miles a year, you'd probably have to replace them due to that before they run out of tread.

On the more value-front, you could get something like the Cooper Endeavor Plus or Hankook Kinergy ST, or for an all-weather option, the Cooper Traction Command.

Since you stick to mostly highways and streets, I'd shy away from an all-terrain tire unless you like the look. A/Ts will be louder and also reduce fuel economy. The Hankook Kinergy and Michelin Primacies are low rolling resistance, which should maintain fuel economy with the Michelins you have now.

I have continental pro contact that I like. Problem is they don't get the 60,000 mile there rated for.

I would definitely stick to black tires to match your truck.

I went with Continental true contact tour 54. Like them a lot. 80k tires only have them for 7k miles so cannot say how many miles I'll get yet
