just about to replace my original 30K Continental tires with another set of exact same tire (OEM stock Continentals-I know,I know most y'all don't like 'em but when a set of new, complete steelies with a new set of tires is $80...I just couldn't pass it up),when replaced do I have to replace, remove, recalibrate the TPMS? Will they get damaged removing tires? exactly how does that procedure go? Thanks for all advice

If the new wheels already have TPMS sensors, just put the new wheel/tires on the truck. The truck will automatically pick up the TPMS transmitters. Then it's a 5 minute job to assign the correct positions, if that';s important to you (this is whathey call "recalibrating"). They charge a lot for this simple procedure, usually done with a $239 Autel programmer. I decided to buy my own. I think in 4 years it has more than paid for itself.

If you need new sensors, get some name-brand ones (not Amazon no-names), and you can just install them in the new wheels. And the rest of the procedure is the same as above.

thanks for the reply-so let me go a little further...
I have XLT wheels with 30K miles on them(original TPMS)-can I take it to a tire shop and just have them switch to the new Continental tires WITHOUT removing/altering/damaging the TPMS? and if so, AND ARE PUT BACK in same position (front left put back at front left) will everything sync.Trying not to replace TPMS if not necessary
I appreciate your time and patience.

Yes to all.

But I'll bet they still insist on "recalibrating" the TPMS's. It's a big money maker for them.
