Okay so I checked and mine didn't update. But it was disconnected from the Wi-Fi in the garage. I reconnected it and maybe I will get the update in a day or two. And then, maybe not.😆😆
I have a 25 Maverick EcoBoost since end of March 2025. I have not received an update yet even I have auto updates turned on. I am thinking the update is for the 25 Mav hybrids.

These are the modules involved in the updated (on my 25 XLT hybrid): ABS, BECM (battery energy control module), PCM, & SOBDMC (secondary on-board diagnostic control module c).
I do not think or know if mine updated, does every vehicle get an update on the same day??

It probably depends on what your automatic update settings are. Because this involved a PCM update, it couldn't update while being used. My Maverick notified me twice about which night the updates would occur on. And it notified me this morning of the successful update.

I work at a Ford dealership and that is how I could see which modules were updated. Dealers don't what any more information about exactly what the updates were for than the blurb that pops up on the screen in the Maverick (about helping your engine perform to specifications).

I did notice that my distance-to-empty seems off since the update. Much lower on a full tank than usual. Maybe it is having to relearn that?

Mine does that too, and it hasn't got the update. All summer I could drive out of my neighborhood without the engine starting, but this week it's starting shortly after I leave my driveway.

My guess is that it's due to the cooler Fall weather and the battery needs to warm up before operating normally.

PS: 2025 Lariat hybrid with 4k tow: no clunks or thuds to report on my end, and nothing like what's described in this thread
If ambient air temp is low - and you have your selected cabin temp higher - it's going to get the ICE going to get some heat.

Not the HVB yet, which will be taken care of automatically you might say since the humans will need heat too.

HVB is also warmed up by some charge being sent to it. Because I've had ICE willing to turn back off as cabin was warm enough, but HVB still almost ambient temp.
It's interesting to see how my normal downhill starting route will be total coast and regen when warm, but when cold enough the ICE is brought up as air-brake to waste the energy and only a trickle is sent to HVB until it's warmer despite not being near 70% SOC. Pretty cool, or rather, warm.

I got to drive more after this update and there's a noticeable change.

The ICE engine seems to get called upon more when accelerating from a stop which would save more hybrid battery for maintaining desired speed rather than using it up during initial acceleration.

The result is more responsiveness, and I really like the update personally. No appreciable difference in gas mileage, although I would happily give up a few mpg for this improvement. Kudos Ford.
That is smart.

I wonder how many uploaded data logs there are of really slow accelerations staying in EV mode, with rear sensors showing following car riding the bumper.

So an update to help driver from annoying surrounding traffic, and making it more efficient in actuality.

Can you tell on the power meter if that careful acceleration still allows up to around 15% limit in EV mode? pre-25's are 10%.

Put a little over 100 mi on mine this afternoon after the update. It's already recalculated to a much higher estimate for miles to empty.

My 2025 Lariat hybrid let me know last night that an update was going to happen.

When we took off this am, the km estimated distance remaining had dropped noticeably...and when we got home after several hours of running about at highway and town speeds, we had more range remaining then when we started off with!

So, yes...lots of things were probably updated and the fuel dte (distance to empty) was reset and has to relearn all our individual driving styles, as had been noted in this thread already.

Have a good one,

Andy

reading these, I opened fordpass (which I had used yesterday).

It opened to an attempt to reset my privacy preferences to allow them my data (I'd turned them off before leaving the dealer's lot, yet both defaults were set to "Screw You!", err, "share").

It then wanted to schedule my update. But I'm going to wait a week or two to make sure that there are no reports here of problems!

My distance-to-empty is off as well since the update. Hope they get this fixed.
