Are we talking about this? Because this has been a feature since day one?

Yes, since you have the 25MY it applies to, good to know it was already there, and these letters are merely informing a bunch of owners it doesn't apply to, besides some it does.

But - are you saying your Fordpass remote access worked for you since day 1?
You'll find many threads that wasn't the case!

Well - when exactly was day 1 for you?
If yesterday not impressed.

I wish I was that lucky. My F-150 Raptor did a climate control update March 31st and it bricked the heated steering wheel. Not that I care it's just the point.

That's an interesting point.

You take truck into dealership with some system not working, after a failed update.

The screen stating that is long gone probably, if you are allowed to start it, because rearview camera required.

So now to dealership - are they going to have access to the systems to see that you did not interrupt it, you didn't do anything to cause the issue?
Or will they claim you did something that messed it up, therefore not warranty work.

And what's the rules on updates that are feature enhancements, not recalls?
So not required, but you have one that takes out some sub-system, that is beyond the 3/36K warranty.
Does Dealership need to prove it wasn't you, to get paid by Ford for sending something out that broke a system, they are now fixing?

I'm surprised these letters or preambles to setting it ON aren't like when you install an app and scroll thru all the legalese, informing you what you are signing away by turning the option ON.

I just got an email from Ford announcing the new function. The links don't actually work, and if I login to ford.com or use the FordPass app I'm told, "Sorry, there are no connected services available at the moment."

I suspect that this new feature may not apply to my XL and I doubt Ford will let me update my backup camera software or battery management software over the air.

Yep. It's not for all Mavericks. My XLT gives the same notification that it isn't available. If you didn't spring for Copilot 360, you won't have access to updates.

When I looked at the fine print, it said this applies only to SYNC4 and 4A.
My '23 XLT doesn't even have SYNC3, so I can't understand why they sent this to me...

Got the same email, went to linked website to see a great display of confusion and idiocy. First they advised to keep truck running during the update, then in the next paragraph said to remove all personal items and to run the update with engine off. Why take personal items out, truck will explode? I complained to Ford and this instruction is now deleted. Anyway, I complained also that the Ford App instruction is false, and in Settings there is no provision to select Software Updates and Tap to set the schedule. Also, they have included false information that in Settings on my Truck I can schedule update in System Updates / Schedule Updates. No such thing on 2023 Maverick XLT, the Updates have only switch On and OFF. Looks someone wrote it, never tested, and product manger signed off on the instruction release. So far, the App and truck Settings info have not been corrected.

Fords record of software updates and recalls on a recall update and their stupid battery charging software calibrations don’t inspire a lot of confidence from this old guy, much less one over the air. Reminds me of the nightmares customers went through with GM bricking vehicles trying to do over the air updates not long ago. Just my thoughts/opinion
Agree they still haven't my battery issue. On my 3rd battery

FORD WILL UPDATE SOFTWARE FIXES DURING TIME WINDOW YOU AGREE TO.

Ford has had the ability to remote flash new software updates since Maverick started.

Now it's going to be offered to all Maverick owners.

I posted before when they remote updated all software on my truck. So I know it works.
It's great until it doesn't work and needs to go into dealer for 11 updates that took 3.5 days! You can see my post about it.
