Ford took good care of him.
Full disclosure about my brother-in law's driving style: he isn't a "smooth and easy" type of driver. I think that may have had something to do with the failure.

Side note: the hybrid I bought would probably drive him nuts. My style of driving is "Easy Does It" which seems well suited to driving a hybrid.

"Easy Does It" is the style for Driving any vehicle..

In August of 2023 the OP brought his used 2022 in with 8,000 miles on it. In October of 2025 he had 58,000 miles on it.
Being used, you never know how the truck was treated by the previous owner or would hack job mods were made.

I will be accused of being a "Ford" Fanboy... BUT!!
Every vehicle, I owned BEFORE the purchase (NEW) of my 2022 XL.
WERE USED!!
So any repairs were ON ME.. That's the attitude I went into purchasing used. (This was reminded to ME by my father and In-laws. They were Mechanics).
And most Used vehicles, that I found did NOT come with vehicle histories..
So you don't know how they were, mistreated..

Being on this from for the last 3 1/2+ years.

Chances are good if OP had 58k in Oct. 25. He was running on average 2000 miles a month.
He has more than 60k now.

Yep, there's lots of details missing in the OP original post not to mention the dealer mentioned is not known for having a very good reputation. Although nothing is bullet proof, something just seems suspicious imo.

Closer to 68, 750 miles by July 25, 2026....
Ownership of (-) 800 days divide into 50,000 miles = 63.13 miles per day.
Aug. 2023 > July 2026 = 1088(+/-) days.
= almost 68, 750 miles..

EDIT: I guess I suck at math..
The OP has 78,000 miles (Post #34)..

I would go with a used transmission too. 3k or so on eBay. Whether I would keep the truck...don't know. These transmissions are terrible, which is unfortunate because the 2.0 in its current gen is fantastic.

I feel bad for the OP, not trying to be a hard ass, but damn it, these Post N Goes serve very little purpose, if any, to help the community.

We need mileage. We need info if the tranny was ever serviced. We need to know if it was ever used for towing and if so towing what? We just had a guy on here that towed a 8,000 lb trailer with a 2K hitch. WTF????
