You are correct on thread size and pitch. M12 x 1.75. Needs to be flanged as well.

Drain plug is the same between the pre-2025 and 2025+ 2.0L Ecoboost.

Hum, appears to provide an easier no mess oil change since it allows the oil to be pumped out of the oil pan. $99 for the special plug, not sure what the special tool and the oil pump components cost. But I don't see anything to prevent the mess when changing the oil filter, maybe I missed that? Think I'll continue to just pay my mechanic shop the $72 to change the oil and filter, heck the price of the oil is the biggest expense of most oil changes imo. I'm not downing the product or idea, it just wouldn't be for me, maybe great for others.

Good day

Interesting idea, but a problem I see is that you need that special pump for every oil change. So, you can't just stop anywhere at any time for an oil change (for example, we take long trips and often need to have the oil changed far from home...no pump? No oil change. Not easily anyways.

Oil on hands a problem...just use gloves and that is covered as well.

I like the idea of it, and if you have a fleet where they stay in one location only and get serviced in that area it would work...like at an airport where all the support equipment never leaves the airport area till sold...before that occurs, change it back so new owner isn't...inconvenienced at their first oil change.

Just my thoughts,

Andy

I just sold my Mityvac - it was great when I had my VW Sportwagen - suck the oil out, top-side cartridge filter change; no reason to lift or crawl under the vehicle (although I usually did the tire rotation too).

Euro vehicles seem setup better for this.

After doing one oil change on my Mav and cursing the amount of bolts holding up the splash shield, I told myself "never again" - I've finally aged (and net worth'd) out of DIY oil changes.

If I were you, I'd buy a high capacity, synthetic oil filter and change it every 20k miles, to reduce the remaining annoyance for your oil changes.

I installed this drain plug on my EB Mav and along with a plastic tube that fits over the end it has worked fantastic. I drain it directly into my rolling oil catcher. Easy peasy!

I looked at getting the Fumoto brand in the past. My concern with that style and others like it is that in the winter, it is not out of the relhm of possibilities that you'll run over the top of an ice chuck dropped by the car in front of you and then possibly break off the fitting which could then drain all of your oil. I realize that this is really far fetched but it only takes the once....

I'm confused about this Aga Tools system. It looks like you could spend $1,000 USD to use your air compressor to change your oil? Is that right? How often are you changing oil to make that pay off?
