Does your Kentucky dealer have any allocations left? Small dealers usually mean small sales which means few allocations. Assuming you didn't put in a rollover order since you hate Ford.

I have an MBA and a degree in economics and I haven't seen a significant issue with Ford that isn't impacting all car manufacturers now.

I don't need a Maverick that bad.
I don't need a Maverick, but I want one.
My $3k off MSRP deal from Granger Ford + private offer discount for being a 22 to 23 rollover mean I'll be getting one screaming deal on my 2023 Lariat Hybrid.

It's now going on eleven months since i ordered my Maverick Lariat through a small dealer in Kentucky. My reason for choosing this dealer is that this dealer has won numerous President's Award and they only sell vehicles at MSRP. I originally ordered a hybrid Maverick Lariat, but when we received information and switching to an ecoboost would increase my chances of getting built. Customer Service with Ford has given me all kinds of excuses, yet I see others who have ordered at the same time or later since September 16, 2022 have received their Maveric. I cannot believe how inept Ford Motor Company has been in getting this fiasco or an order system figured out. I've bought 8 new Ford vehicles since 2013 off the lot. I've been a loyal Ford customer. I have used Ford's service department at this one dealer I was using. I currently have a 2019 Edge Titanium and a 2020 Ford Escape SEL. I've decided that after this experience with Ford, I'll be going with a different brand. This is a text book case for a School of Business to review and see how Ford has been such a failure.
How did you spec out your Lariat build?

I've been selling Fords for 20 years and my Maverick just came in last month, 582 days after it was ordered. My point is your asking how could Ford do this to a loyal Ford buyer. The whole supply chain has been a mess, plenty of Mavericks came in to my dealership, many after mine was ordered. Some of the craziest options have had constraints. I understand your frustation, but you ordered a vehicle that was way more popular than Ford ever expected.

Be patient Grasshopper…I ordered an XLT LUX (wish I had ordered a Lariat after I learned about the keyless and ACC) in Nov of ‘21, same time as my friends in Washington state (bought in Gresham Oregon). They got theirs 3 months ago. They love it and have driven it over 1/2 the US already. They paid MSRP and received a $2,750 price protection when Ford could not fill the ‘22 order and they had to rush and re-order the ‘23. I on the otherhand have to deal with a dealership who is trying to mark up the truck that I ORDERED TWICE $12,000 over MSRP. A person I know went in there and found out the same thing, they started yelling at him about “We told you!!” He was extremely upset and left and the next day his father (who is a prominent Hawaiian and by that I mean in size and fame) came in and gave them hell. He went out at 2k over MSRP. I went in the same day thinking the dudes would be beaten down (mine is on a ship sailing arriving here next week after 640 days) and nope $12,000 still there, “but I have been waiting 630 days for MY ORDER” I was never told you would be marking it up or I would have gone to a dealer on the mainland (they are all marked up at the 3 dealers here). ”I bought my Ford Ranger in ‘97 via A FAX! At Courtesy Ford in Portland, and they brought it to me!” He is now writing it down $5,000 above MSRP, unacceptable. I don’t like dealing on something I thought was going to be $29,850 (minus the price protection of $2,750) when I first got the Window sticker from Ford, they told me at the dealership it would be $41,000 for a ‘23 XLT Lux, can’t imagine what they are charging for the Lariat… This should be a FTC and State Commerce issue but some how the dealers get away with it. I guess the $2,000 they make from Ford on Holdbacks and wholesale is not enough.

At this point, I find these "I ordered in September '22 and mad that I don't have my Maverick yet" posts quite amusing. I placed my order a year earlier than your order and still don't have one (but finally have a VIN at least). When I originally ordered, I was told "it could be as early as February '22 but you will have it by April at the latest". Well, you can see how that went ;-) Anyone who ordered in '22 should have had a pretty good clue as to what the situation was. In September, it was WIDELY reported that Ford took in way more orders than they could reasonably make. Getting a '23 Maverick (ECO or Hybrid) was always a gamble at best. For those who ordered in '21, it was a "shame on you" since Ford really screwed up the ordering, build, and delivery process. For those complaining about a '22 order, it is a hard "shame on me" for not doing at least a little research and knowing that your chances of getting a Maverick were far from 100%.

I know how ya feel, Fords "no" customer service is a shame, it was not like that before I have had new fords since 1974 ,my Mav. order took 19 months. and not a peep from Ford. a lot happened to us over the last 2 yeras, so we downsized. sold the boat- travel trailer, and then the 2019 f150. InJan 23 I found a santa cruz SE awd at $28,500 sticker, so I got it, six months now 5,500 miles no issues, and getin high 20's avg. as my wife has a 7 year old Kia soul ,thats never been in the shop, but oil changes etc.4 months latter the MAv comes in, dealer was ticked I did not take as they sold it above sticker, now I see that all 6-7 dealerships they own, now have 40 Mavericks on the lots, ours in town has 9 . too bad as one would be in my driveway ,even if they kept me informed along the 18month ride!!, too bad.

I had a similar problem with a Subaru I ordered it took much longer than most folks and it was because I did not want a sun roof. They made several batches with sunroofs before making the ones without the sunroof. Why because very few of us did not want a sunroof so we had to wait until it made sense to Subaru manufacturing/scheduling to make it. I do not hold it against Subaru it is just the nature of the business.

My F150 took longer because I wanted BlueCruise and I had to wait much longer than most folks getting a F150. I understand supply chain/manufacturing/scheduling issues that Ford and others are going through. So I waited.

I now have a Maverick on order. How long will it take I have no idea. My plan is to wait patiently and when it is ready I will go get it. In the mean time Ford has lots of manufacturing issues to juggle and I am OK with that. If they put my Maverick last then I will get mine last and I will deal with it.

If I need a car/truck today I will go to a dealer that has one on the lot for sale and buy it instead of ordering it. When you order you take your chances on weird delays for reasons you may never know or understand. Getting mad at Ford or any other manufacturer is not a solution but a frustration and who needs that.

Oh believe me, I could have said more. With going on to the third model year of a vehicle, I don't understand how they haven't figured their problems out. Each day that goes by waiting means my trade in is worth less. I'm not mad, I'm more upset that a Ford loyalist can watch see this

Let's see, I have purchased in the last ten years from Ford: 2 Edges, I Explorer, 1 Focus, and 3 Escapes. Is that nice enough. I'd say I've been nice to them.

Welcome to the club. Thousands of people waiting in excess of two years.

If I were waiting that long, I'd have cancelled the order. I don't need a Maverick that bad.
It appears my Mav is going to be built after 10 months (hybrid). If I wasn't going to get a '23, I would have cancelled! Ford didn't get it right with the Edsel. Mavericks are another problem. Ford Orders Remain Doubtful! It annoys me that, for most, msrp is the name of the game.

Well, now I am just waiting for Commodore Bob to chime in. He as IT/MBA which he has on his site with each post. Curious, does having those letters give you guys a lot more insight than the rest of people, some with degrees from the "School of Hard Knocks", still waiting on their Mavericks? Apparently, you think so or you would not tell us about your educational "achievements". :) Just saying.....
