I’ve driven my new Maverick Hybrid from San Antonio to Dallas and achieved 55.8 MPG average on the way there while driving at 55 MPH max. On the return trip my mileage dropped to a 50.2 average for the entire 591 mile trip. My bed, back seat, and front passenger seat areas were fully loaded with 900 vinyl records and vintage stereo equipment weighing about 700 pounds plus me (154 lbs) as the driver. Pretty incredible fuel consumption I think.

I concur! Speed kills (your MPG).

It's well worth it to drive 55 in most cases.

Some say "time is money" and I get that also.

But driving 55 vs. 75 is like paying yourself $5 an hour for the time spent at 55. Won't make anyone rich. And driving 75 probably won't bankrupt anyone.

But 10 hours on a long trip is $50.
You can probably do something with $50.

It's what makes YOU happy.
Enjoy!
😎

Indeed, you’re absolutely correct on all accounts!

If the speed limit was 55, cool.
Is it was 65 or higher, then i hate you, and so does every driver out there.
It matters not on multiple lane roads.
cheers!

That $50 saved usually ends up going on the motel room required because the trip took so long.

Speed limit on the 35N was 75, however the posted minimum was 45... So I drove late at night (3AM) in the slow lane 10 MPH above minimum and had my caution Red/White LED lights flashing on my back window. Only one truck driver flashed his high beams at me during the entire 11 hour trip. Everyone SURVIVED!

The XLT appears to have 'real' temp and fuel gauges, my Lariat has digital ones. I like the real ones better, they are easier for me to read at a glance. The digital ones have a dashed line so they are harder to visually pick up and there are only eight dashes so there are only eight reporting points available.
Just something to get used.

Me; I drive at no more than 7 miles over the limit (the AZHP are ubiquitous); but do not normally exceed 70 MPH. I regularly drive from Mesa AZ (Elev. 1250) to Overgaard AZ (Elev 6700), about 245 miles round trip. In my 21 Mazda CX-5 (light load) my typical MPG for the round-trip ranges from 31 to 34 MPG depending upon the weather. There is a lot of "up and down", and I can't wait to see what the MAV gets (assuming I actually get one).

Yes they’re real analog gauges, they’re great and easier on the eyes at night time. I had a 2021 F250 Lariat Tremor and it had the full digital cluster, with endless data availability and so many screen options to keep you busy for days! Lol

That's great! There's a reason the speed limit used to be 55 mph I wish they would go back to it.

So as to further increase the discrepancy between the legal limit and the speeds actually traveled? Nobody cares what the speed limit is. And it's absurdly rarely enforced.
