Probably the computer closing the contacts for the high voltage battery and starting to circulate the battery fluid to check temps to see if battery will need to be heated or cooled. I expect the fluid to continue to be pumped when you exit the vehicle until the battery cools down to a safe storage temperature, at which time it will open the contacts for the HV battery.Mine does it too. Sometimes when I go out to the garage and walk around the truck with the keyfob in hand, it seems to start doing the clicking. It isnt the locking sound, but similar to the sound when the ignition is initially placed in the ON position.
My hybrid makes clicking sounds ...

Yep.Probably the computer closing the contacts for the high voltage battery...
I kinda wish the car would stay dead, until I unlocked the doors and turn the key in the ignition. I don't care if it takes a few seconds to fire up the hybrid systems when I turn the key. All that stuff going on just sounds like something that will malfunction in the future and kill the 12v battery.Yep.
The car has the same 12v features as any car, so it has to sense a fob approaching if it's going to respond to you grabbing the door handle. The clicking you hear when you pull on the door handle is the HVB contacts charging up and closing. There's a lot going on for a moment, then the car comes alive as a hybrid.
No idea what happens next... but temperature will be a big factor.
Yep, it is just the coolant system doing its thing to condition the high voltage battery and other hybrid components. Nothing to worry about.Probably the computer closing the contacts for the high voltage battery and starting to circulate the battery fluid to check temps to see if battery will need to be heated or cooled. I expect the fluid to continue to be pumped when you exit the vehicle until the battery cools down to a safe storage temperature, at which time it will open the contacts for the HV battery.
My ECO does the same thing . Sounds like some kind of relays opening and closing . Will do it after the car is turned off and I'm sitting in it with the doors closed .My hybrid makes clicking sounds after it's been off for a bit. Sounds like does something locking. Curious anyone else have this issue?
It’s most likely the high voltage battery relays disconnecting from the vehicle. Just a safety nothing else. All normal noises in a hybrid. My hybrid makes clicking sounds after it's been off for a bit. Sounds like does something locking. Curious anyone else have this issue?
