Just had my delivery date pushed from 2/17 to 05/18 and I ordered 06/16. Guess I will be canceling that order. Nothing worth waiting a year for considering the problems with 1st year vehicle.

It's almost certainly an issue with the glowing red hot catalytic converters. This issue of delays is only impacting hybrids

Mine was moved 90 days, XLT FX4 2.0 AWD 4K, NOT a hybrid

Anyone know how long the lead time is on. Nissan Frontier? I'm about done with this.
I just noticed that I have a typo in my message, is not just a hybrid issue.

What has the dealership said about the delay?
I drove 70 miles RT to visit my dealer today to ask about this. Here's what I got...

My hybrid XLT is stuck in Hermosillo, but another customer's hybrid Lariat just arrived:
  • The Lariat was ordered 2 days after I ordered my XLT.
  • The Lariat has everything on it that my XLT has (except floor liners) plus a lot more.
  • The Lariat was Produced as of 1/25/22, my XLT was Produced as of 1/11/22.
  • The Lariat went to Body Company and was Released the same day, 1/25/22.
  • The Lariat was Shipped Rail as of 1/26/22.
  • The Lariat was Received in Phoenix 1/31/22.
My dealer had no explanation for why a hybrid ordered after mine, and built 2 weeks after mine, would be shipped now while my truck is listed with a 3 month delay.

[EDIT] See the dealers later explanation here.

his car finally made it to California PRESUMABLY to be placed in a shorter train which was linked with others to form a longer train to travel east on mainline and dropped off when it traveled through Tucson (presumably had to have a certain number of cars to be dropped at Tuscon to merit the stop).
Doesn't make much difference, but we don't have an automobile delivery railyard in Tucson.

All Tucson trucks are unloaded in Phoenix (I think El Mirage, actually) and trucked to Tucson.

Mine went from 2/18 to 5/18 as well. Hybrid / Lariat Lux and stuff. Oh well, what's another 3 months. Guess it's time to trade in my current (hanging on a thread) vehicle on a used Honda accord and then see what happens when Ford gets their act together.

Mine officially changed from 2/18 to 5/19. About done with this whole thing. Completely losing all the excitement about it. The 22MY will be over half a year old by then. Loses some of its appeal not having it the full year. Maybe a field of Mavericks will spontaneously combust in a Hermosillo field.

PS. What’s the return policy on brand new hybrid Maverick all weather mats from the Ford store? Would like to just get my $165 back…

OK I do not know nuttin but I think a month or two back someone was having a problem with his rail car sitting in a rail yard after crossing into USA. I looked up lots of things and it appears that the railroad was building multiple Xtra long trains in California to travel east and I think his car finally made it to California PRESUMABLY to be placed in a shorter train which was linked with others to form a longer train to travel east on mainline and dropped off when it traveled through Tucson (presumably had to have a certain number of cars to be dropped at Tuscon to merit the stop). I also expect an increased number of rail shipments due to truck driver situation but maybe few maverick are convoyed due to covid related issues). I would also consider that feds push to get ships unloaded and containers distributed country wide might cause delays for some rail traffic to clear mainline for through traffic. Note that depending on total length and weight of a train a "cooling off" resting period is required before another train can traverse the same track. Also can the railroad find enough cars and get them to the plant or other load point for the mavericks. WHO KNOWS!
Hate to say anything but in South east Colorado there are literally hundreds of auto rail cars sitting on the side and have been for months.

At least you got a delivery date. I ordered June 14 still have heard nothing ordered a basic XLT with 360.

I would think a hybrid that sits for three or four months before it is delivered would be a bad thing. Would not the HVB be drained after that amount of time?

I know that lithium batteries lose their energy slower than other types, but still.

Dealer told me last week there was a rail car shortage. True or not..... no clue

So Ford bragged about how quickly they designed and brought these to market.

And Ford bragged about inexpensively they brought these to market.

They taught us in engineering classes that you can't have all three.

Same lesson in project management, you can only pick two
