Multi-month delay for February 2022 deliveries - Why?

I've seen a few posts from folks whose February delivery date has just today been delayed until May -- a three-month delay.

This is for trucks that have already been built, according to the tracker or the dealer's Vehicle History report.

Has anyone heard anything that would explain this?

(Mine went from 2/3/22 to 5/4/22. I'm in Tucson, Arizona -- 70 miles from Nogales where the train crossed the border -- so my truck would get off the train pretty much at the first stop in the USA. It doesn't seem like there should be much of a transportation delay.)

[EDIT] My truck is a hybrid, as it says in my signature. I don't know about the others.

Glitch in the system? It may be that in a day or two they fix that.

I'd wager there's some issue with the hybrids. Super sus to see hybrid build dates pushed back an entire month and now deliveries also being pushed back. Hopefully @fordvideoguy has some insight in his live stream tonight.

Happened to me too. Delivery was supposed to be 2/15 now pushed back to 5/22 waiting to here back from my dealership sales person....literally WTF.

I sure hope it was supposed to be 10 day delay that accidentally entered as 100 days.

Just got a reply from dealership that told me recently 40,000 units were put on a microchip hold. Was told that after production they are moved to a holding lot...crap.

Common practice right now. They continue production and then move them to a holding lot until they gather enough parts to finish them. They might be waiting on something as simple as a rear seat, or a trim part etc…. Or they could be driving the finished ones to a lot, removing the ecu or another sensor or module they are having a hard time getting from a supplier and then using that to finish another truck and then take that one to a holding lot. So on and so on

This will speed things up once they receive the parts they need to finish the build

Crap they did this with super dutys recently, left them in a field at a racetrack for months and mice ate the wiring, tires had flat spots, all kinds of weird stuff. If mine winds up like that Im gonna just hold off getting one most likely.

It's just a hybrid issue, if you look at the orders being moved they are Lariat with Luxury Packages. I will talk about it tonight.

I'll definitely be watching because I have hybrid FE that's allegedly set to built the week of 2/14. (Sigh)
