Thanks I do live up north so I think this is going to be a problem. I will try to zip tie and tape them.Well they will indeed be a problem if you live in the north.
Those will get ice built up and they will get ripped off. If you never encounter that. They should be fine. I would personally get under it and try to secure them better.
I would also fabricate or install a shield to prevent winter slush/brine from being thrown up into tail light area causing premature rusting. Search threads here on the subject. Just do a search on "left rear wheel well gap" for starters. Thanks I do live up north so I think this is going to be a problem. I will try to zip tie and tape them.
Thank you! Yes it is my first truck. I will do that and appreciate your help!I guess this is your first pickup. I've owned pickups for decades and open areas behind the wheels are the way ALL pickups have been built.
I agree it looks a little unfinished and is a definite place for road crap to build up but Ford has been doing pickups like this for ever. You can make up a filler panel but my advice is to make it removeable so you can inspect it periodically.
Dribbles of water seeping between tailights and outer fenders is not a new thing. I use an oil based rust proofing system which coats all exposed areas and the wiring and is done yearly. My 2008 Ranger has exposed areas like this on BOTH sides but I haven't had wiring issues. My Maverick is now getting the yearly oil treatment.
Who Installed your hitch??Thank you! Yes it is my first truck. I will do that and appreciate your help!
In your experience, is it normal / ok to have those exposed colored wires out? I plan on covering them with tape, but I just didn’t know if it is normal for them to be exposed at the connections.
The dealer, it was with a “we owe” when I bought the car.Who Installed your hitch??
Thank you!Crawl up under any modern pickup and you’ll see dozens of exposed wires for lighting, sensors, etc..
Your truck will be fine.
Good luck

Here is the fix.Hi!
I just got a trailer hitch installed on my 24 Hybrid XLT. When I looked under the truck I realized that there is not a splash guard or heat shield under the rear left tire. Also there are some exposed wires. Is this normal or is a part missing ? Thank you so much.
