Thumping feeling in my wheel tire/lower front left!!!!!!!!!

Mine is doing the same thing, moving and randomly when stopped and idling. I tried taking a look but it has a plastic cover under that side. Heading to the dealer on Friday for an oil change and asking for that to be looked at.

Please keep me posted as to what they find. I also tried to take a look and couldn’t see that area well even with the cover removed.

They took the Mav on an 8 mile drive and couldnt reproduce the problem. They also pulled off the cover underneath the footwell supposedly and couldnt find what would cause what im hearing. Fuel lines like some people reported on this forum where secured properly. Could possibly just be random engine vibrations we are feeling. It did do it for me today on the ride to the dealer but ohh well! They said the truck is running perfectly.

Thanks for the update! Not surprised they couldn’t replicate the problem… seems like problems always go away once at the tech is driving

What fuel line issue were people reporting? I don’t remember seeing that. I can live with the thumping, but want to make sure it’s not anything that should be secured to prevent future issues.

Of all the possibilities I have read here, I would tend to pursue OB1e's theory , re: tire pressure sensor broke loose. If you work in an auto shop, put a crayon mark on the tire where the valve stem is. (after looking, if you mount the tire in the same position, the balance will remain true) Look at the two left tires first. If it has been loose in there, it may have damaged the inner liner of the tire. These Continental tires have some kind of foam liner to make them QUIET, so who knows what you will find. (I would love to see photos) Tires are not covered by your Ford warranty, but your sensor is. If the covered sensor caused tire damage, the tire should be covered.

Either that, or it's the loose nut behind the wheel.

I will bet it is the wheel bearing assembly.

I hit a curb and had to get mine replaced, it was making a grinding/thumping sound when coming to a stop without using the brakes.

Although I knew I whacked my wheel, I obliterated a stock wheel and tire.

Probably unrelated, but I've noticed if I drive with my left foot flat on the floor (not sure why I do this sometimes - I guess to stretch in a different position), I feel something thud against the bottom of my foot from underneath every once and a while. Almost feels like something kicks up and hits the underbody, or something is flapping up and down from underneath (nothing visible when I look). It's pretty noticeable / alarming when it happens, but since I don't have my foot in that position very often it isn't that bothersome and I haven't bothered looking into it further

Curious if you have determined cause? I have the same issue. I have about 4k miles on it, and have felt that thump as your described. It very noticeable when it occurs, and physically feels like something hits against the floorboard. It doesn't happen often, but shouldn't be happening. I've probably felt it about 5-7 times.

Nope, not yet. I haven’t been noticing it as much, but I also haven’t been doing much highway driving. I definitely wish I knew what was causing it as it just doesn’t seem right.

Sounds like a warped brake rotor. Does it happen only when applying brakes?

I feel a little bit in the brake pedal I think it's related to the regen system I'm not sure if it doesn't give me an issue it's intermittent I'm not too worried about it yet after all I was driving a 2002 that made all kinds of crappy sounds

So I have had a thumping in the lower left wheel area. It has been looked at by 2 ford dealerships and my own work which is an auto shop. Only one person has felt it other than me. I say that's only because they don't daily drive it to know a difference. No one has been able to find the issue and I'm starting to get very pissed. I want it fixed because it annoys me so much. I would LOVE ANY HELP. Seriously anything. Anyone at ford have any insight.
Everything that's been checked.
1. Tires have been rotated
2. Majority of bolts have been checked to see if they are loose
3.When lifted and accelerating I don't feel anything as if its gone

If it's consistent and can be duplicated and demonstrated by you to a repair tech it should be easy to diagnose. If occasional and can't be duplicated and demonstrated by you then be patient. Almost impossible to fix an occasional problem that can't be duplicated.

I've been meaning to reply to you because I noticed when I first got mine a little bit of that and I think it has to do with the regen effect so it may be as minded it gradually went away but I think it's has to do with the combination of new brake pads and how little they get used because of the regen if you're still having the issue and they can't reproduce it I would say toggle the regen feature to the lowest level and see if you still get it or raise it to the highest region level and see if it makes it worse then you know it's a difference between the two the other thing is I would be very particular about having a check that both front wheels actually measure very closely the same diameter with the same tire pressure even though tires can be pressurized the same they're diameter overall might be slightly different and adding to a differential noise this used to be an issue with some of the older Corvettes they actually had to mount the tires on a drum and machine them round and true matching them or the back end would get a little unwieldy so maybe some combination of these situations is affecting you if it has gone away please reply and let me know
