I love these type of threads. Tells me all these dreamboats got a long way to go to catch up to the Maverick.

The Slate concept is interesting but not my cup of tea. No AWD, zero amenities. During the R & D stage they even debated about having A/C. Clearer heads obviously prevailed there.

Zero amenities standard. There are many options available, at extra cost.

I'm curious about your statement on this. Why is a single cab a non-starter for you? Passengers? Interior cargo? I'm curious because I know they have fallen out of favor but I would personally have no issue with a single cab - in fact, when I was shopping I considered the single cab F-150.

So what is it that you (and seemingly the market in general) has decided makes a second row a must?
I'm interested in the answer. I guess it matters if it's a work truck (priority to the working bed) or a play/commuting truck.

eh just here and there, situations where that extra couple of feet would be helpful - like having less of a jon boat or a kayak hanging off the tail gate. Also for xporting longer mouldings or lumber, being able to use the interior space up to the dashboard to haul that stuff back from the store and not having to hassle with flags and tiedowns would be handy. Yeah I'm sure cost to do this would be sort of pricey.
Here's how I haul long stuff. But I'd love to use the back for a camper (sleep back there) and I have things like my motorcycle that barely fit in the back. An extra foot/foot and a half would be great.

Yeah what's up with that picture?
That's my 17.5' canoe on my hitch mounted bracket in my driveway before a trip. I also moved some long boards like that. The hitch extender is from Amazon. The pic might look a little funny because I used the "panoramic view" feature.

I was going to say wow, you must have bought one of those salvage trucks that they thought they could repair. Terrible rear tire wear.
Just joking 🤣🤣
