Bought my Maverick Hybrid 26 about 2 weeks ago. driven about 700 miles. mainly to work and back about an 80 miles trip. Ive learned to drive in the "sweetspot" as was referenced in earlier posts..Im getting 44-47 mpg. I do drive the speed limit or slightly under..slow down lightly so the coach usually says 100 ..coast up to red lights and so forth..you guys getting similar results? I love this...its a great truck plus crazy mileage..why did I wait so long!

If you look through these threads, you will find that to be a common conclusion. Although, you will also find that it also has had its share of (mostly minor) problems. Your '26 should benefit from having any problems worked out prior to manufacture. Only time will tell.

That's just about right milage for me too. Talking about wait; I waited, after ordering, well over a year (16 months) for my first Maverick. Of course the early ones got the bugs out, my '24 has been problem free.

If 44-47 is calculated mileage, that is about right. If from an un-adjusted indicated mileage it is a little low, IMO.

I picked my 26 AWD hybrid up in February and just went over 11000 miles, I also have a topper and a decked drawer system and tools. I am guessing 700 pounds there and 300-500 more in tools average overall is 30 MPG. That is pretty much all highway normal running in normal mode switching to sport to pass and probably 5-7 MPH over all the time 😏. So with all that I am pretty happy with the 30 average and the 38 in town.
it took 4 years to pull the trigger on buying it, But I am glad I waited for the configuration that I have 😎

Only had two fill-ups so far. I really like the fact that I can go 550 miles or so before filling up. Never had that range with any other prior car. 39 & 42mpg were my first two ACTUAL readings. Love this vehicle!

My 2026 Tremor hit 1,000 miles yesterday.
Still not broke in.
Showing 23.5 mpg on my local roads, already did a 200 mile trip showing 28 mpg.
I’ll get it on full synthetic soon and get some more miles. It will improve.
Expecting 25-26 local 29 highway, where my 2024 Lariat once broken in averaged
26 local and 31 highway.
The pulling power, the feel of this 2.0 and this new transmission is wonderful.

My 25 Hybrid Lariat AWD averages 43-44 mpg (as calculated by the car). I'll be hitting 20k in the coming weeks. I drive the speed limit and don't speed to or from red lights like the originator of this strand stated. I'm delighted by the range and by the mpgs I get with my Lariat. Being an x-Harley and Norton rider, I miss the throaty sound and torquey feel of my bikes and of my Ram 1500 4x4. Now, I enjoy the leisurely drive and the sound of regenerative braking offed by the Lariat. :giggle:

My experience is that any reasonable driving style gets good mileage with these hybrids, and the only huge efficiency mistakes are hard late braking and freeway speeding.

For bumping up to great mileage, there are two things that help:
  1. React fast to traffic slowing ahead.
In a gas vehicle, I would let off the gas, but delay braking if I thought the traffic would clear in time. On the hybrid, it's better to get on the regen immediately, because there is minimal penalty for unnecessary light braking, and it avoids hard braking later.
  2. If you're in a good position to make use of power, get on the accelerator.
The most efficient times to use the gas engine are during accelerations and hill climbs.
In stop-and-go traffic, those tips are just what you would naturally do so you can really just drive in these situations, which is safer and less stressful.

On flat country roads with regular stop signs, #2 is really significant. The dream is to briskly accelerate out of every stop until you get to a speed and distance to the next stop that you can let off into electric mode and glide all the way to the next stop sign. There's a rhythm to this, and you get better at it for a given route as you get a feel for how much electric power you can use in each segment without draining the battery too much for it to be ready for the next glide.

It still blows my mind that when I see the gauge at a half a tank I still have at least 300 miles before I need gas!

your vehicle will do better after 5,000 miles I have been competing against someone for MPGs. My highest tank so far. 13..2 gallons after 3 pump clicks. Yields 57.8 MPGs
