Mice problem in cabin air filter!!!!!

Can some figure out how to code the flap to close when the car shuts off and open when the car starts up?! I’m also probably going to add mesh to the small rain guard. Poor design!

Parked out side city . I don’t understand how how he got to the glove box because the ac vent system should be closed box? But he had the nest on the cabin air filter. Hoping there’s not another one in my car

Sick. Wire mesh probably a reasonable action. Do the same for the air vent behind the backseat. They seem to like the wiring in the engine compartment also. There’s been others on this forum with wires chewed up

The wiring in the engine bay is probably insulated in a soy based vs petroleum. Nothing you can do about that.

yep I understand the insulation material, my point was that other members with the same issue previously had started threads and there were post/replies referring to different solutions to help deter them away from the wiring. Just thought you might be interested in searching for other possible actions to consider in advance if they decide to start eating yours.

Someone (AutobahnSHO) found the LH & RH rear have some kind of vent in front of the wheel wells.
The rear coner trim covers them up from view

careful how you do this!

we got rats inside because an idiot contractor didn't seal around the dryer vent!

After fixing that, I got the bright idea to fluff up a bit of steel wool to put in the vent, as rats and mice hate it and won't chew through.

I was still feeling pleased with myself when my wife informed me that the dryer wasn't working. My clever mesh became a frame to catch lint!
