Finally installed the MegaOhm device on my 2024 Hybrid Maverick. Love it!!! Included directions okay… Tire removal unnecessary. Removed rock guard, A man with large hand and nimble fingers can install in 30 minutes. Tight space for large hands, minimal cussing, but doable. Zip tied to frame. Works fantastic! The best $$$ ever spent.

I thought it was only me!
We are lost together :)

Other than the backup tone, I never noticed "fake noise".
Do you mean to tell me that flying saucer noise isn't real???

Well, if it eliminates noise (both going forward and the reverse tones) I don't want to install it.

Then don’t install it… To each his own.
It does eliminate 100% of that B.S. noise.
For those of us not born in the 21st century we’re used to looking over our shoulders when backing up and not relying solely on a camera.
I’m surprised the govt & ins companies haven’t installed a speaker or required loud redneck mufflers on every vehicle.
Gotta warn those pesky deer and suicide squirrels…
Oh that’s right… those pesky human animals that can’t seem to stay out of traffic too.

Can cause problems for you if you hit a pedestrian and they found out this was installed. It's there for a reason, even with it, I always have people zipping in front of me in parking lots then jump in surprise when they see me.

I will just say that should one be involved in an accident and should any of the built-in safety features for their vehicle be shown to have been changed or altered, one could be held liable. Remember, todays vehicles know when something have been altered and information is kept in the black boxes. I respectfully understand the OP's position. Using a common phrase from the show "Hill Street Blues", "Let's be careful out there."

I don't understand why people do this. That is what the mirrors are for. In addition, there is the backup camera. Why would a person need to look over their shoulder when backing up?

OHHH NOOOOOZ, you're going to hell for disabling your noise maker! You're clearly a horrible person with complete disregard for what the government wants and want to murder helpless pedestrians. There's no way we're capable of watching out for people on our own. Don't you know that? How do you even sleep at night?

All joking aside, it is my second favorite modification. There are A LOT of people on here that have installed the megaohm device, but they dare not post about it, because everyone is going to tell them what a piece of crap they are. It's your truck, so do with it what you wish! It's nice getting to really enjoy the electric silence at low speed. It's also nice being able to arrive/leave quietly, when wanted. I particularly appreciate it when going into the deer woods. Sure, you have to be extra vigilant in parking lots to watch out for people, but I feel like we're capable of that ;)

I totally get the need for a noisemaker in busy parking lots, but would still like to be able to disable the backup cowbell late at night in my own darn driveway. I have plans to switch in a resistor to simulate the speaker impedance. Does anyone know if this is the usual 8 ohms? Also wish I could get both M&F connectors at the speaker so the install can be perfectly reversed, but have no source for these.

My point was how easy it is to install…

This is a product for mature consenting adults only that don’t live in mom’s basement.

If you have to ask why, what does it do, then this product is not for you.

If you live in SoCal, Fl, or any other place that requires vehicle inspections, then this product is not for you.

If you operate your vehicle on the state highways and are afraid of liability, the govt boogie man, insurance companies, the bank, or the manufacturer, this product is not for you.

If you wear an aluminum foil hat and are afraid your vehicle will report your activities, then this product is not for you.

Feel free to put your high beams on, flashers on, and blare the horn when driving 20 miles per hour or less… You do you.

As for me I’ll enjoy the silence!
