Does Copilot 360 have evasive steering as part of it's protocol?

And Evasive Steering just increases the assisted steering rate if the pre-collision system thinks you are going to hit something. It doesn't actively steer you to avoid a collision.

It's possible to feel frustration & anger, and sympathy & sadness for someone, or multiple people, at the same time. In this case, I DO feel anger that he was driving drunk. I also feel sadness and sympathy for him--and for his family. And, I also feel sadness and sympathy for the trucker who got sucked into a terrible situation.

Drunk driving is a problem… a major one. You’re absolutely right. I would just encourage you to find a way to be part of the solution. Spouting insults about a dude who’s fighting for his life contributes nothing. If you’re interested in ways to help either reduce drunk driving or substance abuse, I am sure you have a local substance abuse prevention coalition where you live. Please reach out to them. We’d love for you to help be part of a solution.

Exactly. Their are some things that I just wouldn't wish upon anyone, and this is one of them. We are all human, and we all have done some really stupid things in our lives, but by the grace of God, we are all here to laugh at ourselves about it. And this is coming from a guy who probably despises alcohol more than any other person on this forum ! God bless this young man.

It does for the rich (Lariat model). This was the XL in the crash so we may never know.. Plus reading the link it says coming up on a stopped vehicle not one you are driving at.

This is probably my biggest pet peeve with manufactures. If something is such an amazing "safety feature" why isnt it bog standard? Wouldn't saving someones life create brand loyalty? I hate to be morbid but this was a tame head-on with a semi. And the guy still barely survived. Any worse and there wouldn't have been pics. Another psa for not d and ding. Hope he pulls through as well as possible.

Years back they did. Nowadays the proper response is "LOL, driver training?!"

Now instead of actual driver training it is the parents teaching their kids their bad driving habits.

Like not signaling when turning or changing lanes, turning corners way too soon such that if the driver in their proper lane coming to the corner doesn't stop they will be hit and a host of other bad behavior/decisions.

So what we have is that each generation passes on their bad habits and the next one adds in theirs so that it gets worse and worse as time goes on.
