He JUST got the truck too. Bought it on the 7th and crashed less than 3 weeks later.

Looks like the driver is in stable condition but according to a family member is gonna have it rough.

Damn, so many callous comments and jokes here. Hard to teach empathy, compassion, and sympathy. But just imagine if this was someone who you loved before posting stupid crap.

My dad drove drunk for years and I had to pick him up from the drunk tank/jail on multiple occasions. All empathy, compassion and sympathy are lost for some one that drives drunk. This hold true for my family or any one at that matter. Might as well load a gun and start shooting at random.

Only for ford. Most other manufacturer dont put a price on safety and what they have is standard. But then again it lets people choose not to have the nannies.. I for one would of chose
more safety but couldnt afford five grand more..

Personally I’m not a believer in any of these aids that compensate for poor driving. But I might as well wish for a meteor of gold to land in my yard as it will be granted quicker than hoping the standard of driver training in America improving.

It's sad all the way around. One guy who didn't live up to his God-given potential and now most likely never will. A family that loves him going through grief and probably years of caretaking. A hard-working guy who, through no fault of his own, has to deal with this on a personal, professional, financial, and legal basis. Lift them all up in prayer. Maybe in the future the Mav driver can turn this into good by setting an example of what not to do in front of teens, AA meetings, etc.

I've been hit by two drunk drivers in a span of 18 months. First time I was angry and it did me no good. Second time the other driver died, and I was inconsolably sad and it did me no good.

There is no good answer or reaction to such an irrational and selfish act. I hope everyone involved can find their own peace and recovery the best they can.

This Maverick is/was an XL model. Copilot 360 on the XL does not have evasive steering.

This is very true. Glad the driver of the semi wasn’t hurt. Too many innocent families are destroyed by careless idiots who think it’s a good idea to drive drunk… If, in fact, he was drunk. Hard to understand how this could happen sober though.

What if DPS was wrong and he was not drunk and computer took over, messed up and hit semi. We have to wait for analysis and reprogramming computer?

Don’t drink and drive folks

Well that should be obvious, but there are plenty of other ways that BS drug can totally screw up yours, or someone else's life too. Better yet, don't drink alcohol at all. It's just a BS drug for losers.
If you have to do a drug socially, smoke weed. It's much safer.

And plz, don't tell me about your cousin who smoked weed, got addicted, and jumped off a bridge. I've already heard about that guy...
