So I used my Maverick for an easy trip here in Florida. It's 2022 2.0 EB AWD with 4k tow. The trailer was rented from Cruise America and is about 20 ft long and 3k empty weight. Travel was 70 Miles each way through some back and city roads and highway.
The Mav pulled easy and never hesitated. Power was good and handling was ok. Over some bumpy sections there was a lot of bucking and bouncing. Gas mileage was abismyl at 12 mpg. While my Mav had the brake controller recall done, I think it's still not working right. The lights worked , but it kept saying trailer not connected then other times it was. Not confident inspiring!
Temp gauge stayed in the normal range and I never felt like it was running hot. Tow/haul mode held the rpms high for a long time before shifting and normal actually seemed to drive better.
We made it back safely and while power was ok with the trailer, the Mav felt sprightly after disconnecting !
