with toyota coming out with its Hybrid truck Ford will have to make some serious improvements to the maverick to compete.

Depends on what the Toyota costs, no? If it's in Ranger territory price-wise the the Mav is positioned fine.

I mean those people aren't interested in a less feature rich vehicle made in Mexico.
Does not matter where it is made, the fact that it is gone from the North American market is in my opinion, a mistake.

That may be the case but the Bronco Sport still lacks features the Escape had on higher trims, such as the power liftgate, air conditioned seats and if memory serves, the Bronco Sport doesn't have a hybrid option.

Yeah a 5k maverick would be a game changer. I have the 2k lobo so it’s lacking there for sure. Like to see a lobo/sport trim that can pull 5k. I’d have to buy it for sure.

A 5k Maverick probably won’t be a Maverick. When you get up in that towing range you are likely looking at a ladder frame rather than a unibody. I know some disagree but imo the Maverick was never meant to be a legitimate towing vehicle.

No hybrid (I almost bought a Badlands 2024, but really wanted a hybrid so I cancelled and ordered my current Maverick) and no power lift gate (an important feature that my girlfriend wanted so she bought a 2024 Escape ST-Line instead of a BS) and no A/C seats for sure....had 'em in my 2017 Lincoln MKC and loved 'em.

Sales have been down for the entire industry. I think we are simply seeing a delayed reaction from the Covid demand. Most people have the vehicle they need and so the post-covid blitz has finally ebbed. I've always maintained it would take a decade for the industry to really recover and settle down to pre-covid consistency.

Interest rates likely also don't help. Despite being down from its high in July 2024, it is still high.

Honda ridgeline? Santa cruz? Both those are unibody trucks that tow 5000 lbs.... heck the santa cruz was almost the exact same size as the Mav.

In no way do you need a ladder frame to tow 5000 lbs. Or 6000. Or even 7000. The dodge durango is unibody and tops out at 8700 lbs.

People are going to disagree with you because reality disagrees with you.
They are out there if you take your time and are willing to do a fly and drive. Found my wife her 25'XLT Hybrid with luxury package for 31.2k locally in Texas. Bought my 25' Hybrid XL with 4k tow package / AWD last year in Kentucky for 29.5K. There are still a few good dealers out there. I always refuse to put my foot in the door of them. Do all of the haggle on-line.
Yeah there are a few left, but they're getting scarcer by the hour, and what is left is usually either overpriced or an undesirable configuration.

Price increase and slower economy had to have an impact on Maverick sales...my Maverick XLT went up about $7,000....from 2022. Threats of tariffs significantly kept dealers from placing inventory orders. I'd have a hard time paying $38,000+ for any model Maverick.
Price increases have occured in all brands. Your economy sucks and impacts us in Canada, especially the Iran war which will drive up hybrid sales. Is the ICE only on a slow death? Yep!

Yup, not to mention it also probably lacks lacks the auto dimming interior/exterior mirrors plus the garage door opener like our Mavericks. I was looking to swoop on an Escape for when my Fusion kicks the bucket, at least they should be available for certified pre-owned purchase for another 2-3 years.

Economy is bad and the high prices are not helping. A XLT with the seat upgrade is pushing $40k now. That's just too much money for how de contented the trucks have become.

If you could still grab one of these XLTs for $31k they'd have no issue selling. But now if you did want one, the ridgeline is almost the same price now, and IMO has a way better interior (but worse software).

The marked down 2025 ecoboost mavs around here have sold out but the MSRP 2026 boosts and all the hybrids are sluggish on lots.
Understand what you're saying about the Ridgeline, but to be honest as much as I like that truck and Hondas in general, not having a hybrid option is a no-go. Honda is way behind the curve here with the lack of a hybrid for the Ridgeline, Pilot, Odyssey, etc.

YAY! After 48 months of consistently predicting Maverick sales could not continue excelling forever, I finally got one month right!

Seriously though, I don't pay much attention to a month or a quarter or two quarters. And it seems like Ford has endless demand levers to goose sales, so I figure it's a blip. They can put cash on the hood, zero percent financing. Haven't they already done a "everyone gets employee pricing"?
Employee price right now..

Yeah, unibody whining belongs back in the 1960s, you know around the time when they swore they loved adjusting points every weekend and capacitor discharge ignitions were the devil. That was back when Elvis was alive and still actually good, if you are senile enough to need further points of reference.

Since then, many manufacturers have proven unibodies can tow decent loads, full size vans have been unibody, German SUVs have been unibody. The one thing restricting them from towing more is the rear crumple zone considerations vs the free pass trucky trucks get for folding in the middle and crushing the cab.
