This morning I saw a red (Hot Pepper Red?) Maverick with large Raptor logos on the doors, small black logo on the top of the wind shield, and black lettering on the tailgate. It went by pretty fast so I didn't see many other details. Is this a real deal or just someone with some stickers and wishful thinking?

If you can get close enough check the license plate. A Ford test vehicle will have the letter "M" in the middle = manufactures plate.

And yes being in Arizona and driving east to Colorado or west towards Arizona, California. Drive trips with prototypes happen all the time.

Ford does have their desert proving grounds in Wittmann, AZ, just NW of Phoenix heading toward Las Vegas, after all..

Specifically, you're looking for a Michigan license plate typically, rear only (no front plates in MI), in format ### M ###, with the word MANUFACTURER on the bottom.

I can't see Ford diluting the raptor pedigree with a Maverick version.....

I agree with you, however, Ford did massively dilute the Mustang pedigree with a Mustang Mach-E, close to blasphemy IMO

Isn't it at least faster than an actual mustang? My biggest problem with that one is you never see Mach-E's wrecking while leaving cars and coffee meets.

FX4 and Tremor branding have both been bastardized with the Maverick. I don't think they'd do a Raptor lol.

The FX4 should have just been an "Offroad Package".

The Tremor is what the FX4 should have been. That can actually go to significantly more places than the standard AWD Maverick.

A Maverick Raptor would be super easy for Ford to build. Throw in the 2.3T from the Focus RS (you know it would bolt right in), add some more serious off road running gear and price it at $40k.

The Tremor is what the FX4 should have been. That can actually go to significantly more places than the standard AWD Maverick.

That's debateable, especially with a lift on the FX4 which will give it more clearance than a Tremor. The trick clutch on the rear end that's the same as the Bronco Sport Badlands will help, but...eh..

Love It. HA, yep I've watched alot of those videos, show off idiots deserve the results. But no it isn't as fast as the 5.0 Mustang's and no where close to the Shelby's.
