Maverick license plate

I had a chance to drive behind a Maverick yesterday. I noticed for the first time that the rear license plate is offset.
Being the extremely symmetrical peson that I am, it actually made me twitch! But I'll still take my truck when it shows up

My $0.02...
If I opt to use my hitch hauler on a trip, the license plate ends up being blocked from the view of traffic/speed cameras. Especially the ones in Maryland where they create a 1/4 mile "construction" zone where nothing is being done and the porta-potty at a 45 degree angle to the lane with the camera mounted on the opposite side from traffic snaps photos all day. Cameras are typically in the median from my experience so... I'm OK with the license plate where it is!

I just yesterday installed the Front License Plate bracket on my XLT....
I'd have to say, it was pretty start forward, measure 9 times and drill 4 holes. setup to cleanup took me a couple of hours. But i'm retired now, so everything takes me twice as long, minimum, as it use to.

I'm just glad that a front plate isn't required (yet) in Indiana.

To me it's what gives the Maverick its character. It's nice to have the license plate break the norm and be offset. But I know it wasn't really by choice. Since the trailer hitch is right in the center, there's no other place for it than either side of the rear bumper. I'm guessing it would've cost too much or it would stick too low to the ground if they designed the rear bumper to be totally symmetrical with the trailer hitch mounted to the very bottom with the license plate holder being on top of it like in every mid or full-size truck.

I like the offset plate. It’s the first thing my eye goes to when spotting a Mav. out in the wild.

Yes, that’s how I spot Mavericks as well.

...what about the large inset "MAVERICK" on the tailgate?

I love this quirky bit about the Maverick. Also, symmetry is overrated. I believe the Broncos (not sport, the real Broncos) have it offset left.
