My f150 has a hitch and it is in the center.I had a 94 Ranger with a trailer hitch and the ball was in front of the plate. I would finish work at 2 AM and the Cops would pull me over about once a week. The Cops said, I pulled you over because your plate is blocked and that is against code. It was just to see if I was drinking, then let me go. So I am glad the plate is to the side.
The F150 is a body on frame truck, thus has a taller stance, not to mention a much larger bumper where the plate is mounted. As a result the tow receiver can be mounted lower on the frame. The Maverick doesn't have that space between the tailgate and the receiver is already rather low on the body, any lower and the trailer hitch would be on the ground. My f150 has a hitch and it is in the center.
You are correct sir. Excellent point and observationThe F150 is a body on frame truck, thus has a taller stance, not to mention a much larger bumper where the plate is mounted. I think the tailgate could be redesigned to include the license plate. But maybe that's not allowed? If it wasn't off center in the rear, then what would they do with the hitch? I will rarely need it but the hitch price was just something I could not resist!
Don't think they can do that, if you need to have the tailgate down while hauling stuff the plate wouldn't be visible.I think the tailgate could be redesigned to include the license plate. But maybe that's not allowed?
I'd move the Ford emblem up and place the plate below it, perhaps integrate lights into the emblem to light the plate at night.

Anyone find an alternative for front plate , other than drilling into my new bumper ?I really like the off center plate. Also surprised I even thought about it, but yep- I dig it and I have a huge symmetry hang up normally.
Uh oh, they have to change their name ???!!! Roundland Cavalry just doesn’t sound good.In 1492 very few people believed the earth was round. Most thought it was flat.
This poll reminds me of the same thing.
.
I thought Ford was putting brackets on the front for states like New Jersey that have two plates.Anyone find an alternative for front plate , other than drilling into my new bumper ?
I bought my truck in Michigan, where they have No front plates and drove home to Illinois, where they do . So now I want an alternative to drilling in my bumperI thought Ford was putting brackets on the front for states like New Jersey that have two plates.
