Exactly. I know people who have eaten at a local Chinese restaurant for decades and raved about it; then ONE TIME they get a dead mouse in their General Tsao's Chicken and they are through! Sheesh, picky, picky.I've known people like that.
Folks who have one bad experience and it has ruined 40 years of positive experience. What can you say except.....

Of to the Toyota dealer. My Cross is fine. Never have to wonder, on my way to the garage, if it will start. My 2017 RAV4 never failed either. Fool me once . . . . goodbye.
DidI’ve never understood joining a forum just to complain and then say “this is my last post”. Ok.
This old discussion reminds me of a quote from the movie Armageddon: "American components, Russian components, both made in Taiwan!https://recalldetails.com/recalls/toyota/
Gotta love toyota build quality.... LOL. Its not the 80s and 90s anymore, when they built tanks.
these are from the last 15 years supposedly. better than some, but just shows that all manufacturers have issues.
Heck, your chance of getting another rotten apple from Ford are now lowered. Sorry customer service didn't sit well with you. Hope your post makes you feel better but a Maverick site might not be the best place to seek revenge. The best I can tell, we all have Mavericks. Maybe go on a GM or Dodge site and state your grievance. You're more apt to catch the ear of someone considering a Maverick. I suspect this site is read by folks who already know if they will get another or not.I purchased a 2026 Ford Maverick XL 2.0 turbo on May 15th, 2026. On June 9th it went into the shop for the first time. It was in and out until June 29th when went in and NEVER came back out. Electrical issues. Ford has agreed to BUYBACK but gave me the middle finger when dealing with the stress, inconvenience and anger that I went through. Needless to say, I am DONE with FORD after 40 years of owning a Ford truck. This will be my last post on this site!!
I am more than sure this is true, and points in the same direction as the decline in reliability would suggest: They're all using the same shittly made, globally sourced parts. This old discussion reminds me of a quote from the movie Armageddon: "American components, Russian components, both made in Taiwan!
People act like Ford, Toyota, Honda, etc. don't all use the same parts suppliers.
Not sure I agree with the first part. Business expends a great deal of effort and money to capture Market. I once dropped a vendor who's market cap is 250% larger than Ford and the contract was only $125K and they busted their behind to get the business back.Proving once again that brand loyalty is foolish. Always has been, always will be. Get what you need, not just what they serve up. No matter how loyal you are to a brand, they were never loyal to you in the first place, and never will be.
Every brand has lemons, we see these types of posts on all brands groups, forums etc. Just be glad your State has lemon laws that force buybacks and move on.
I had a 1983 (i believe) Toyota Corolla/Tercel before they were separate models. That car was a brute. My brother and I used to jump hills in and push over small trees... Ended up stoned one night and the next day the car was half pink half brown and all 4 wheels were a different neon color, with big ass green batman symbol on the hood.Who remembers the Toyota Corolla/Chevy Nova or Toyota Corolla/Chevy prism or the fact Saab Aero and Saturn Ion shared the same chassis?![]()
Correct on that but we all are guilty of making it so when we chase the lowest price. I can't answer who was the first to try to save money by buying overseas, but the others follow or lose market share.I am more than sure this is true, and points in the same direction as the decline in reliability would suggest: They're all using the same shittly made, globally sourced parts.
I do remember that as well.I had a 1983 (i believe) Toyota Corolla/Tercel before they were separate models. That car was a brute. My brother and I used to jump hills in and push over small trees... Ended up stoned one night and the next day the car was half pink half brown and all 4 wheels were a different neon color, with big ass green batman symbol on the hood.
Im not proud of myself, or the amount of times i was pulled over after doing this.
Still happens although they now make deals to avoid stepping on each others territory.Who remembers the Toyota Corolla/Chevy Nova or Toyota Corolla/Chevy prism or the fact Saab Aero and Saturn Ion shared the same chassis?![]()
Brand loyalty is incredibly foolish. Brands do not care about you. Ford is not going to reward you for continuing to buy them with a higher quality vehicle. Brands constantly cash in on their customer's loyalty. Not sure I agree with the first part. Business expends a great deal of effort and money to capture Market. I once dropped a vendor who's market cap is 250% larger than Ford and the contract was only $125K and they busted their behind to get the business back.
They actually cant, Hyundai/Kia are banned by the South Korean government from selling anything to North Korea.Still happens although they now make deals to avoid stepping on each others territory.
Ford Ranger or VW Amarok for example… No Amaroks in the states. However North Korea can sell shared models between Kia and Hyundai or N.A. Chevy and GMC etc.
