He says my Maverick is a perfect geezer ride for me because if I don’t put the park break on or put the transmission in park before shutting the engine off, it will do it for me. He also says it tries to keep me in my lane when driving. I agree with him. I like all the tech now days.

My son is in college and drives the 2024 Escape S-Line Elite we bought him. It has the same tech I have, and more. His ride is really loaded compared to mine.

We both enjoy all the tech, heated seats, heated steering wheel and heated side mirrors. He has dual zone automatic climate control where I have single zone automatic climate control. Both of our vehicles are AWD too, which is nice. I wish my cruise control was as elaborate as his. Paces traffic, does speed limit sign stuff, and actually drives if you let it. Does a good job too.

🙂👍

Sounds like you need to trade for a Lariat!
I thought everyone knew the Lariat was the King of the Geezer trucks. Mav or F-150
I like my Lariat but am well aware I will never be happy with anything less on my next Mav.
Spoiled I am. :’P

Yeah I think geezership is relative. If you go to the pubs and clubs of the youngest crowd, you are a geezer at 30, if you go to the locals bar, you are probably still the kid until you're 50.
If you go to the senior meet ups and can still dance your a kid.
Swoon the older gals with songs like,

~~~~I’m not as good as I once was,
But I’m as good once as I ever was ~~~
:’P
I'm a member of the Geezer Club now days! Do not know exactly how that happened but it appears that it did. Now my '25 Maverick Hybrid is just about perfect for me. Does everything I need it to do, does not do everything my previous 1/2 ton did, but I do not need those things. Recently used it to transport Allen Blocks and gravel, separate trips. It does not carry as much as the Titan did, but surprisingly not that much less. With the lower height it makes getting stuff out the box easier for this old geezer.
The adaptive cruise is perfect, makes driving in stop and go and heavy highway traffic much more bearable, just love it. Probably be my last vehicle as we keep cars for a long time. The last two over 15 years each. That will make me 90! So not likely to be buying new vehicles at that time of life, assuming I have any money left!
.... and if you're the guy who takes care of the coolers, AC, kegerators, etc. then you're the hero regardless of how old you are :beer:
The GeezerMobile hasn't arrived yet, but I'm waiting for it. For me, a GeezerMobile is fully eyes-off driving, point-to-point, and the OEM insures it and has liability for accidents.
Tesla's death box on wheels - no thank you. GM has their eyes-off system in road testing as I type this. Ford and Rivian and others not far behind. Replacing my 2022 Maverick NLT 2030. My next ride WILL be BEV, and it WILL be eyes off autonomous.
GM has a brilliant record so far, for the nonbelievers. Of course it is still an eyes-on, highway only system. Meanwhile, Tesla is paying hundreds of millions in lawsuit after lawsuit.
The geezer vs whippersnapper designation is based on a variable, which is your current age (real or imagined).
  • A geezer is someone at least 10 years or more older than you.
  • A whippersnapper is someone 10 years younger or less.
Therefore, the ages of both vary by the person applying the title and continue to change over time.
In going with the theme of the OP, when people say my Maverick is a light duty truck I just respond that the driver is too. :D
This makes me wonder at what age someone becomes a "geezer". I have an idea it's kind of like how "old" is always older than the person applying it to someone else!
Geezer.gif
How do I know that I'm ALMOST in geezer territory? There's an ADULT co worker who refers to EVERY OTHER coworker by ONLY their first name. But he refers to me as MISTER Darryl.
