I don't think the video showed it, but are there threaded holes that the bolts are going into? Or do you have to drill holes into the bed sides?

There are 4x M8 threaded holes along this upper portion of the bedside on all Mavericks. No drilling necessary.

Me thinks you know more about the Maverick than the average Joe. Thanks for all the awesome feedback.

There are several out there that Ford has put together, including a Bike Rack one. I think I did a video search for Flexbed when I saw that one. Maybe we should start a thread with a link to all the DIY videos they have made.

Aren't they M6? The installation video calls for (6) M6 screws to mount the channel rails. That would be 3xM6 threaded holes each side.

I've planned on doing this as soon as I get my build in. If possible, I'll probably make the rails longer though as I think the 30" length could be a little longer; at least if you go by the Ford offering in the options or lux packages.

Also, the parts list on the video fails to include the washers needed to attach the bolts through the strut to the bed. It only includes the washers for the eye-bolts.

How much are the "official" tie downs?

I find it interesting that Ford is promoting things like this on a vehicle that is going to be low margin to begin with. They probably want you to roll as many add-ons into that 84 month financing as possible!

From what I see on the 'Build Your Maverick' site, they don't appear to be available on the xl, and only as part of a package on the xlt and lariat.
