It’s all part of marketing to increase sales. Same reason Ford is promoting the Flex Bed with diy 2x4 and 2x6 components instead of expensive racks; they have determined that a good share of their customers like to build things and they are catering to that customer. How much are the "official" tie downs?
I find it interesting that Ford is promoting things like this on a vehicle that is going to be low margin to begin with. They probably want you to roll as many add-ons into that 84 month financing as possible!
Google 'removable pickup truck ladder racks' there's bunches of clamp on racks out there. And some of them look like they could be adjusted/cut to size to fit a Maverick.Sometimes I need to haul some 10’ pipes …I’m a little worried about the short bed … it would be nice to make a removable ladder rack … has anyone heard anything about a ladder rack ? I almost ordered the rear window just for hauling the pipes but it’s a once a month thing if that and the rear window looks flimsy.
Most ladder racks use the holes on top of the bed and the maverick doesn’t look like it has those.Google 'removable pickup truck ladder racks' there's bunches of clamp on racks out there. And some of them look like they could be adjusted/cut to size to fit a Maverick.

I believe the Video said there are pre threaded drill holes.I don't think the video showed it, but are there threaded holes that the bolts are going into? Or do you have to drill holes into the bed sides?
Those would be nice and you could store the cleats in the cubbyMac's tiedowns are MUCH nicer, cheaper than Ford.

Cool that summit racing is still in business. I have not thought of them since my custom truck days and when those of you in DFW may remember Harry’s hot rod shop changed names to Harry’s auto and truck accessories (far less cool name)Mac's tiedowns are MUCH nicer, cheaper than Ford.
