Loved the Maverick LOBO, but had to turn it down.

Well my LOBO came in yesterday, I absolutely loved this truck, but unfortunately couldn't take it home.

I've driven the LOBO and a '25 Lariat and can definitely tell the difference between them and my '22. The steering is quick and responsive with the short ratio steering rack, and the "7-speed" was very smooth. I do enjoy the 13" screen but definitely prefer the physical HVAC buttons and like the cubby from the' 22-24.

The LOBO doesn't seem much lower than the other Mavericks on the lot, but maybe the suspension just hasn't quite settled in yet. Didn't get a chance to really try LOBO mode with only 34 miles on the truck.

I will say the thing I HATE about the LOBO is the god-awful instrument cluster. It's absolutely terrible. For RPM you only get a little veritcal bar on the left side of the screen (I should have taken a photo) even in LOBO mode. For a premium price this truck should have come with the full digital dash the Bronco Sport has, or at least the cluster from the previous Lariat/FX4.

All in all, I definitely would have taken the truck if I could have afforded it, but with the payments going from $600 to $800/mo, it just wasn't worth it.

I was able to at least get some neat photos of it before I took it back to the dealership.

You ordered it, vetted it out, and made the best decision for you. I've done it with Broncos and a Ranger.

Good for you for not getting sucked in when it ultimately didn't make sense for your situation.

Lobo is like the Tremor in the sense that the lowered stance is very minimal like the Tremor's lift is very minimal.

I love my Lobo but not having the full sized rpm gauge does kinda bug me. I know it's really not needed because I shift by ear when using the paddle shifters.

I bought a leftover 2024 in February. I didn't like the 2025 fascia. As far as the interior goes I really wish they would have just added the 13-in screen to the 2024 Lariat instrument cluster and controls. I would rather have analog gauges and physical buttons and dials. I drive a Transit 250 with sync 4 professionally, it has a big touch screen and everything's ran through that.... I hate it!

I feel the same about the 2025 instrument cluster--I've had dial-gauge speedo and tach on every vehicle I've owned and it just doesn't seem right without them. I would be happy with digital representations of dial gauges. But I suppose it's the way of the future. I mean, Formula One hasn't had them for decades now, and EVs won't need them.

The Lobo looks lower because of the color keyed front valence, rocker covers and painted rear bumper. Your eyes follow the color down and you are really looking at the lowest points on the truck

Hoping they do a future variant with more aero styling ... To me the Lobo is lacking the fender flares - either way I won't own one unless I win the lotto lol But i do appreciate looking at them regardless ! TGIF

Lobo should have been turbo/hybrid...that would have justified the price!

I too feel the ‘22 Lariat cluster is better than the ‘25. Not only the RPM gauge, but also the way it shows the menu. I just don’t show the menu, like I used to.

I wanted the new tech, so getting a ‘25 was a no brainer for me, but I couldn’t justify the added bump for the Lobo.
