I have had my Maverick XLT FX4 since late August. Now I want to add locking lugs to the wheels. I ordered
MCGARD 24215 Chrome Cone Seat Wheel Locks (M14 X 1.5 Thread Size) for the wheels. I have measured the
bulge end on the original lugs were almost 22mm at the widest. The McGard lugs were approximately 17mm
at the bulge. I am worried the holding power is below the factory spec. Anyone have a better choice?

The critical spec is the 60 degree seat angle. If they have that, you're good.

I was checking the Ford GR3Z-1A043-A branded McGard Lock Nuts the dealer had put on.
Didn't take more than 25 ft lb to loosen them, so loosened all the nuts and torqued to 200N·m/148'#

The McGard locking lug nut cone surface width & height looked close to the Ford ACPZ-1012-M OEM lug nuts.
DPAccessories D3718-2305 solid lug nut's cone height and width seemed smaller than the Ford and McGard nuts to me, but might be the how the Ford lug nut shape compared to the DPA nut's shape makes the DPA seem to sink into the wheel more.

Holding the caliper to the cone width while holding it & phone at same time so not the most accurate looking measurement.

Yes, McGard is Ford's OEM supplier of Ford's locking lug nuts. While the 60* seat length on McGard's branded lock nuts is shorter than the stock lug nuts (non-steel wheels) and the Ford-branded locking nuts, either version will work as the actual contact patch on both 60* cones are similar. Below is the McGard technical drawing.

I had both the McGard-branded and the Ford-branded locking nuts. I still have the unused McGards (pictured below) if anyone wants them for $20 shipped to you CONUS PM me....
