I watch Caredge on youtube all the time. Very informative place. EV's are money losers now. Low sales number Mache easy to get same for lightening even witgh 10K price drop.
I used to think they were informative when they covered things like how to order a car but now they are following other click baiters with big trashy headlines.
EVs are money losers at just about any price until scale takes over and fixed assets are in place, hence Blue Oval city. Once scale is in place then profit will follow unless they let Chinese imports in. Tesla had the exact same problem for years where investors were about to give up on them because they couldn't turn a profit but volume got to the point where he could throw his money away on Instagram.

Glad they did that at least. I test drove a California Route 1 several months back and really liked it but just couldn’t justify paying the price.
The Mach-E CR-1 is a great vehicle. I can totally see why you would like it. The fit and finish on the Mach-E is like nothing else in the Ford lineup. Plus it is hard to deny that off the line acceleration that EVs have. It's like nothing else in the automotive space. lol

I agree though that EVs like the Mach-E do have their down sides. Of course price and range are the two biggest elephants in the room and honestly that's justified. Besides the two I just mentioned service and charging infrastructure are next big hurdles for EVs. IMO all of these are justifiable questions that all informed consumers should be asking.

I have a unique insight though. I'm one of few who own both a Maverick and a Mach-E and IMO the Mach-E is the better vehicle. Even with all the caveats that come with owning an EV it's my favorite. Not becasue it cost more or has more creature comforts but becasue the driving experience is just so much better than the Maverick.

Not to discount the Maverick in anyway. It has done everything I have asked of it and has impressed me every time but the Mach-E is still my favorite.

Anyway, here's a pic I took a month or so ago showing off the Fords in my stable.:)

Ford is a car company.

Tesla isn't a car company. They are a data company that sells cars. Their "product" is all the data the Teslas capture while driving.

From what I've read, Ford can pretty much sell all the Lightnings they want to produce to fleets. Retail customers buying the heavily loaded versions are just icing on the cake. Fleet managers are way more sophisticated than most retail buyers. They do the lifecycle math for their use cases, and the results don't lie - fleets can save thousands buying BEVs, and they're making the plunge more and more often.

MSRP pretty much means nothing to fleet sales, by the way. These are bulk buys, often tied to services and management packages. And fleet sales are a sweetly lucrative profit center for Ford.
Most, yes, but not all of us. :)
