No, it does not have a mechanically driven alternator. No alternator at all in a hybrid Maverick.

Nope. The hybrid charging circuit is not fed by any moving part such as a generator or alternator.
I reckon we just have to suck it up and buy an overpriced little 12v battery every couple of years. When we had a 2014 Fusion Hybrid we used a $10 Harbor Freight battery maintainer on the 12v battery to keep it ready for action as the car was seldom driven. That extended the battery life by a couple of years, but they still do fail at 3 to 4 years at best. Ford seems to have copied the same flawed low voltage charging from the Fusion.
Good luck getting Motorcraft to honor their battery warranty even if installed by a FORD dealer. Tamiami Ford installed one in '21 (Fusion Hybrid) and the same dealership has no record of the installation yet the battery date code showed it was less than 3 years old in '24 and was going dead within a few days of not driving.
I shopped around and went with Napa as they have a better warranty and a lower price. No issues in two years and we are not using the battery maintainer. Oh, two Ford dealer's said the battery tested good though I had to jump start the car twice. That's what I have to look forward to with my '25 Maverick Lariat Hybrid AWD once I get it out of the body shop.
I had hoped that Ford had worked this out by now.
