I have a feeling the hyperflash is the tail lights. I can see the front turn signals reflecting on the vehicles in front of me, and they never stop blinking normally even if the inside signal is hyperflashing. Cannot see the rear ones, would have to test at home while parked.

Interesting, my hyperflashing is always the front turn signals. I can see it reflected off what ever surface is in front of me, be it someones tailgate or a road sign.
I have gotten out of the truck and seen it myself. BTW, the tails have not hyper-flashed when the fronts started.

I figured it was the heat buildup in the small front bulb compartment that made it worse. The rears have a lot more “breathing room”.

I’ll see how the new deigns works and let you know.

I don’t know.
Nobody has flashed their brights, or crashed into me, so I guess it’s not a major issue. I don’t drive much at night though.

They definitely see my turn signals better during the day as evidenced by their actions.

People didn’t wreck their cars when HID’s were a thing did they?
These are much dimmer than those were/are.

I have pictures in one of my threads showing the older ones at various distances in the daytime.

Update:
I purchased the new, improved front turn signal units.
They are supposed to be much improved in solving overheating/ hyperflashing.

So far, so good.
My old ones started hyperflashing after 2 - 3 minutes.

I tested the new versions using my flashers.
They went 5 minutes without hyperflashing. I didn’t test them longer than that. I haven’t had them hyperflash during regular usage during the last month of changing them out.

I can’t see any brightness difference between the old and newer versions, they look the same to me.

Is there any issue with running the T3’s or original versions for long periods, as they’d be constantly on at night?

does that overheat them like the blinker would?

They are white when not blinking, and a lower lumen as well, so I don’t think heat is an issue when running at night.

I hardly drive at night much, maybe more as it gets darker this winter.

I have had several occasions lately where I had my turn signal on for well over the length of time that my old versions started to hyperflash. Looks like they solved that problem.

The running lights, headlights/ running lights, and turn signal flashing

Ah ok, lower lumens during night driving makes sense. Thanks — ordered the T3’s!

Updated T3’s are the right amount of brightness. I’d say a 15% decrease in lumens from the original 4257 ambers. Any more lumens and you’re asking to get pulled over.

People will definitely see my front turn signals during the day. I always signal, and I hate it when other peoples turn signals are so dim that you can’t even see them. (At least they’re trying though)

The change to a white running light instead of the yellow is an improvement IMO.

The tails wont melt your rods and cones but can be seen much better during the day compared to the halogens. The camera overexposes the brake lights, they aren’t white/red like the photo shows, just bright red, without the halo.

The backup and cargo lights are much better, I can see what’s behind me now.

Looks great on the White Maverick!
I just added the LED to my Maverick and the DRL is still Orange. Any idea why ?
I did install the correct light tho, the turning signal works fine.

Thanks!

Just waited for a 2+ minute turn light. At the end my turn signal started hyperflashing.

Stopped after I turned it off and back on again.

Not happy about that.
I’ll keep everyone posted as to how these are working.
Actually glad to see your post as I have the same thing happening to my hybrid Lariat with installed LasFit turn signal bulbs. Since a right turn takes up less time, I've only noticed it on my left turn lamp. I was wondering if the LasFit bulb was defective.

This is good to know. I believe I have the 4257's installed since as you put it, I feel like an aircraft approaching the runway. LasFits are not cheap so, I'm not ready to rush out and replace them with the T3's quite yet.

I'm not real happy with the Lasfit LED bulbs I installed on my wife's 2023 Outlande PHEV back in January. The car had all LED lighting except the rear backup and rear turn signals. It's been 11 months since I installed them and already had two failures. At least Lasfit is good about replacing them under warranty. I went with Diode Dynamics on the Mav. Quite a bit more expensive but have a three year warranty. Once the Lasfit bulds run out of warranty I will replace with the same as the Mav.
