I was almost set with XLT + Lux until I sat in to an XLT.

First for all, I want to have ACC but XLT doesn't have. But I kept asking myself whether ACC justifies the $5K price difference because the other upgrades in Lariat are not essential to me.

Then I visit a dealer and sat in an XLT. I felt that XLT was a little too cheesy. Firstly, the clothe seat looked and felt (very) cheap and I felt I had to upgrade the seat. The Lux package would give it power but I didn't know if the upholstery would be upgraded, too. And after market upgrade to leather may cost $1500-2000 (like Katskin)? The second id the dash trim, the gray plastic piece kind of was screaming. If it had used the same black as the surrounding pieces, I might be able to get over it.

Finally, jut as the previous other people mentioned, how much the $4-5K matters to you? I have being driving each of my new car lounger enough and feel myself in the life stage that I can spend a little more for myself. Thus I ordered Lariat + Lux + 4K ( the 4K part is only for re-sell consideration).

Just a few more words about reading other people's opinion. I usually ignore the two ends of extreme opinion. It is not because I don't believe them, but I just believe their enthusiasm doesn't fit into my mood. If I was going agree with them, I wouldn't have asked the question at all. I asked the question because I was swinging between choices. The opinions of the people who are in the similar situation are just more valuable to me.

Absolutely no regrets over the Lariat Lux trim. Also went 4K and FX4. Ended up with a moonroof as well. Almost 3,500 mile so far and a 1,550 mile trip. ACC and Lane Centering were fantastic. Crack the moonroof and open the rear window and vent the cab without a lot of road noise.

I think you just discovered the beauty of the MTC ... lot's of differing ideas and first hand experiences and opinions. Couple that with our own wants and needs and I think you have the recipe for a smart decision.

One of the video reviewers mentioned that you lose headroom with the moon roof, but I didn't notice it. My Mav was ordered by the dealer to keep one on the lot, but the sales dept convinced him to sell it. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have ordered a moon roof, but this one had it and I'm happy with it.

Yes cruise is a must. Adaptive cruise is something I really want to try out which is what leads me to the Lariat.

Lumbar support is nice, as is heated seats. Even during the summer during long road trips on occasion I'll turn on heated seats to help some with lower back strain from sitting long stretches.

Is the heated seat function back and seat, or just seat? Also does it turn off after a predetermined time or stay on until you turn it off? In my wife's van high stays on for 30 minutes then kicks to low for 15 then off
ACC is amazing. It will automatically slow down the Mav if you're coming up on the car in front too quickly..
Heated seat function is both back and seat. Oddly enough, on my 2018 Colorado one could choose to heat the seat, the back, or both. Even my fully loaded Palisade doesn't have that. By the way, to dispel any notion that I can afford 3 vehicles, the Colorado caught fire and destroyed itself ... thus my buying a Maverick to replace it.

As soon as the orders open back up I plan on visiting the dealer about a hybrid. This will be my first new vehicle ever, and I'm wanting something nice.

Question is which trim package I go with.

Lowest trim I want to go is the XLT, and then I'd be getting the Lux package. It's only about a $5,400 difference between the XLT Lux and Lariat Lux

That extra $5,400 would get me keyless enter and go, adaptive cruise, power rear window, better stereo (not sure if the B&O is really that much better?), Sync 3 with SiriusXM, upgraded dash screen, wireless charging, and probably some other things I'm missing.

Wife's van has keyless entry/push button start and I absolutely love it. Never owned a truck without some kind of sliding rear window so I want that too. Rest of the stuff I've never had but wouldn't mind. I drive about 60 miles on the highway 5 days a week so the adaptive cruise would be nice.

So to owners of the Lariat trim, do you still feel it's worth it or would you have been just as happy with the XLT?
My wife has a Subaru Outback Limited. It has All the features you mentioned above and much more. So, when my Lariat Lux Hybrid arrives, it will be comparable to her vehicle with luxury and safety items. Well worth it once you have experienced it, like keyless and adaptive cruise. They are great features.

I have a plain Lariat hybrid and I wish I had an XLT hybrid with the Lux package. Except for the Lariat seats which I'm not sure if I like or not (they look great!), I don't know if the Lariat is worth it. If I had a ton of dough sure, I'd go with a Lariat Lux. I lucked into this one as it was an order a guy ordered or lucked into out of state, drove it home and then turned around and traded it for a Ranger "as he needed more truck". I just happened to walk in the very next day. It had 800 miles on it. Most of it driving back to our state. I feel extremely lucky.
