This one's kind of funny but a little annoying too. So coming back from S.C. to N.Y. I was trying to use the lane keep assist. For the life of me I could not get it to work. So I had an oil change scheduled at dealer( I know, I'll eventually do them myself) and asked the dealer to look at it. They said they could take a quick look but anything more in depth trouble shooting would take an appointment. So I pick it up and they said they reset the sensors and it's still not working I need to schedule service. Frustrating, but I did. I drop it off and pick it up hours alter and the dealer says nothing is wrong, I had the switch on the turn signal lever off. WTF, you would think a dealer would have checked that first at the oil change. My fault I know, but look at this photo, you can't even see the switch. I didn't know it was there.
So don't make the same mistake I did.

My switch is at the end of the left hand stalk, not on the steering wheel...

I did the exact same thing when my Mav was new. In my mind I was going to schedule service to get it looked at during my first oil change!:ROFLMAO: Then I said to myself, there must be a switch....

Don’t be hard on yourself. You just needed a different photo so you could see the switch. 😜

I had a 2022 and had this feature on 24/7/365. Could not recall how I turned it on though. When I picked up my 2023, since I was going to be immediately driving it 1,700 miles back home, I spent a ridiculous amount of time in the dealership parking lot trying to recall how to turn it on. I was dead set on not reading the manual since I had "already been driving a Maverick for 6 months". Eventually I remembered it was a physical button. Still seems weird to me that this is the feature they decided should have a physical button and not just a menu setting......

This is why, I bet:
I use the button to shut off driving assist when entering a construction zone.
Sure makes sense to me - there may be conditions where it's suddenly an annoyance, or even a hazard, and you don't want to wade through menus while you're driving to disable it.

On a separate note, that appears to be a lot of keys dangling from your ignition switch. After having an ignition switch go out in another car, I avoid any significant weight dangling from my ignition any more. Are you worried about that at all? It's one of those things that's never an issue, until it is.

Lane assist can be hazardous. Drove thru a construction zone recently and the permanent and temporary white lines were thoroughly screwed up...Mav steering wheel made several quick left and right turns and I had to react quickly to correct the Maverick's steering. As most know lane assist is turned off when you use turn signals.

I have since turned the Intensity from High to Low, or turn it off at the turn signal button.

You're 100% right on the keys and the baton. I started removing them when I drive. Easy carabiner clip.
