Yes, some choices. I have to make time to, one see if brake control circuit triggers trailer attached screen. Two, if brake circuit doesn't trigger I can work around using taillight feed wires in truck bed to power signal/brake/tail and loose the trailer light check. Use relays if circuits are too light duty.
I do agree with you. Ford kind of pulled a fast one by not disclosing the fact that lane keeping was disabled when towing on the newer models.
Choice's
1. Keep the brand new 25 Maverick hybrid and suffer while towing.
2. Try to find an "software" ForSCAN workaround. That would keep the safety integrity of lights and trailer brakes if used.
3. Sell the 25 hybrid and try to buy a new old stock 24 hybrid, equipped the way you want. Or buy a used 2024
4. Sell the 25 hybrid. Buy a competitors non-hybrid truck equipped for towing with Lane control. Paying the non-hybrid increase fuel cost. (As a comfort tax.)
Options 1, 2 seem to be the only ones that won't cost a lot of extra money.
Good luck.
MY reason for going to dealer was to see if they would correct it in Forescan but they trouble shot it as if ligit complaint. Maybe they are playing stupid to avoid arguments which they probably have a lot of experience in. Can the public buy those outright or dealer only tool?
Otherwise see if that Coma aftermarket AI drive will work on 25 model which is not listed as being compatible.
I have three 98 Dodge cummins ram trucks, so only bought this for fuel mileage. No need to replace this truck and I believe 25 is first year with 4k tow package (and the previous years are susceptible to an update which would remove towing with lane centering), I will develop a workaround. I usually look on these forums to see what others have done. Maybe one of the Ford techs will chime in at some point with specifics.
Thanks
