Just took delivery, disapointed to see that the lane assist/centering is disabled while towing. The '22.'23'24 I owned worked perfect while towing. Why would they take that away? I use a small trailer on long trips and always used the lane centering ,This sucks! Please no comments about safety,It is much safer if I had it again!

My guess is greater liability while towing. Doesn't really make sense to disable it logically.

How small? Could you just keep it in normal mode and use lane centering? This would work if it's disabled in tow/haul.

I believe it's disabled on larger Ford trucks as well. I believe GM allows the use of it.

Disabled in any mode 700 lb. trailer.

According to Ford it's exactly about safety. Starting in 2023 Ford decided with their larger trucks to deactivate Lane centering while towing.
F-150 owners were complaining about it in 23.

You can reject Ford's decisions about safety. And try to find a workaround with FORScan.
If it's that important to you you could always sell your 25 and buy an earlier model like you had.
There are going to be some brand new 2024s coming to Market in a couple months.
There are always options, you may not like them but they are there.

In theory you could also get comma.ai which should work while towing which takes over fords ACC and lane centering completely but its pretty pricy.

My 2019 Lariat Ranger allows lane assist (there's no centering available) when towing. But from personal experience I understand ford's position. If the system senses the vehicle is very close to the edge, it will wildly whip you away from it. It's not gradual at all. It's literally a sickening feeling and can cause the trailer to sway 🤢. Another reason/assumption is the system can't detect the tongue weight. If it's at or over the limit without a WDS, then the front wheels will have a lot less traction. The system on its own may not be able to handle the understeer heading into a sharp turn. This would be bad if your hands aren't firmly holding the wheel.

That stinks. Love both options, especially when towing and using cruise. Glad I went with the 24 vs waiting for a 25.

Been towing since 2022 with several Mavericks never had an issue with the lane centering till now no jerking or abrupt crazy jerks.Lane assist yes, lane centering never.I probably towed 60,000 miles with the lane centering worked perfect.I always tow under 1500 lbs. May go back to a '24 to get it back it was very safe and kept me from being exausted on trips from NY to Florida

Disabled in any mode 700 lb. trailer.
It also turns off blind spot monitor.

It detects power going to trailer lamps to know there is a trailer.

It does not matter the size or weight of the trailer, nor the mode.

You lose those features also if you plug in a decorative / auxiliary light to your trailer plug. Like these:

I don't know if it's still true. There was a time when that would also disable the start and stop.
