First of all, Ford extended the battery life on a hybrid to 10 years, 150K miles. Used batterys on Ebay cost $1000-$1300, about the same as replacing the tires on your truck. How many years will it take you to hit 150K miles? I would get an extended 10 year ESP from Granger to cover the electronics, and enjoy having coverage, that's transferable if you sell your truck after 7 or 8 years. The newer Mavericks have more things removed from them, that were standard, and some no longer available even as an option (a member listed them above ) so pay more for less is up to you. Unless you need, or want, options that weren't available (4x4) just enjoy what you have.I have always had junkers all my life until bought the maverick 23. I don't buy just to buy.
I bought new because at 71 yrs. I can't crawl under car to work on it especially since hybrid.
I was asking feedback for comparison of buying a new one every 3 years instead of buying ext warranty on hybrid, because others can contribute their specific data that I didn't consider.
Along with keeping the existing maverick repair cost comes, brakes, tires, battery, and a hybrid battery that cost a lot. And if a aging maverick isn't sold within lets say 5 yrs. others are waiting in line to buy it because they know what the cost of hybrid battery would cost.
thanks for your feedback though.
