Carvana for me still strong. About 1k under what I paid OTD for my 24 in Feb of 24. Too bad dealer trade in is thousands less and they use the tax savings excuse for it
I sold my 22 XLT FX4 LUX to CarMax, dealer offer 21k CarMax 27,500, no brainer, it took 30 min. Shop around dealers want to steal you truck.

My 2022 Ecoboost has 36,000 miles on it now, and I go through the same calculations every few months. My Ecoboost has depreciated about $10,000 in inflation adjusted terms (people on MTC love to feel better by not inflating their purchase into 2025 dollars).

Everytime I'm tempted - and my dealer has a discounted 2025 lot-lemon just like my truck that I would love to buy - I remind myself that $10,000 buys a LOT of maintenance. And that my powertrain warranty still runs to 5 years and 60,000 miles, along with roadside assistance. A great deal really. And frankly, I'm totally underwhelmed by the 2025 refresh.

I'm chilling right now. Lots of new product arriving on the market soon. A full redesign of the Santa Cruz (I say that because its sister vehicle, the Tucson, was just totally redone). The Slate. A possible Toyota. The new Ford skunk project. And who knows what else will be dropped on the market without warning. So I figure - "let's see what's on offer next year". And I stick with what I have.

But that's just me. We're all different. There is no right answer.
I do appreciate your data in decision making. Thanks for responding.
Are you if not already going to get a short ext warranty since reaching 36000. I am on the fence if i keep my 23 maverick in a year.

I too on the fence for 2026 or later model. My EB has 97xx miLes, will be 2 yo. Not a fan of AWD nor 4WD. Would like 2WD.
Right i have 2 wd. good enough for me in s. florida. I figured it cost me to drive per year 3000 dollars. If i go beyond nov 2 in 26 my 3 yr warranty is gone. Unless buying 2 year warranty then, and dropping it after a year and getting rest of money back

Your logic is very bizarre. You won't need brakes until close to 100k miles and you won't be needing tires any time soon with less than 10k miles. If you really think you need a new battery that is only $130 on Amazon. Keep the truck and buy a warranty if you want peace of mind. You will come out way behind to buy new. Mavericks have only got more expensive each year.
Many people are scared of the potential costs to replace the hybrid battery. I decided I was more willing to trust the hybrid than a turbo. Though my other vehicle has both.

My previous turbo I owned for nearly 10 years, never had a turbo issue. But had an expensive diesel related issue that may have had to be done within a year, and I was tired of the vehicle.

To me, the only downside of AWD is higher tire expense, since you may have to replace all 4 if one goes bad, slightly lower MPG, and since more parts more that can go wrong.

And if I could have safely waited earlier this year, I wouldn't have settled for FWD on my Maverick. But at least my sedan has AWD, so in bad road conditions I'll just drive that.

I wouldn’t consider another Maverick until a redesign comes down. The pike is minimal differences, except if you were to purchase something like a hybrid, all-wheel-drive with the upgraded transmission and cooling system that would be something to consider, but if you’re going to just go from apples to apples, I feel like you’re just leaving a lot of money on the table, especially with the low mileage that you currently have on your current vehicle.

We were looking at the same decision last year with our '22 Mav hybrid, deciding whether we wanted to start the warranty clock over again in 2025. Carvana made it easier for us by giving us more than the paid for the '22 with almost 25K miles on it. Plus we were having the charging issues that so many dealt with from that year. Been driving the '25 Mav hybrid since early April and not a single charging issue yet. Just my 2 cents.

I plan to look at what Toyota has to offer in the future. I'm over the dash rattle and other small things that are starting to fail (like axles).

I get it, it was a cheap vehicle, but didn't expect it to fail so quickly. I planned on keeping long term but frankly my trust is shot with Ford lol. First and only Ford vehicle, sadly my grandfather was a Ford mechanic for 40+ years.

Currently have a 2023 with 8,400 miles on it.
I have a 2023 Maverick Hybrid with about 18,000 miles on it. Have had zero problems with it. No complaints whatsoever. You say it was a "cheap" vehicle based on your negative experiences with it. Understood. In my case, I say it is an "inexpensive" vehicle based on my positive experiences with it. Big difference between "cheap" and "inexpensive".

Thanks for info. Question: Charging issues, as in a/c refill?
Awesome you got good cash for 22 carvana. That made is easier for the decision.
Car max on line was going to give 22,000. My 23 maverick xlt . 10,000 miles on it perfect condition. I will see what Carvana offers.

I was referring to the battery charging issues that were problematic for so many of us from the '22 model year and the hybrids specifically, Scotty. Had to replace the battery four times with the non-AGM batteries that Ford kept foisting on us before doing my own AGM. Even with that after a few months the issues that forced me to keep jumping the truck were still there. Haven't had that issue at all with the '25 hybrid. Best wishes on whatever decision you make!

I got excited about the Maverick in 2022. Eventually bought two, one a hybrid and the other an EcoBoost awd to try both types. Eventually sold off the EcoBoost and now keep the hybrid in the garage off the road.
I'm driving my 2015 Scion FRS aka BRZ which I've owned for 11 years now. I'd have a new one if I could afford it, one with a little more power.
The Mavericks make a nice practical appliance but that's about all.
Ive owned well over 60 vehicles in my life time and the FRS continues to make me smile like no other vehicle ever before !

When did fleet sales start? We're on a timer, 36 months from then, increased used Maverick availability = used values drop.

You know that the dash rattle is a simple fix. There is a TSB that shows you where to put a couple of foam blocks to stop it. I bought high density weather strip on Amazon and cut to the dimensions in the TSB and fixed it myself in 20 minutes. If you search the forum, you can find the TSB number (or google).

Mine has that rattle (more of a clunking) as well as many others unfortunately.

That’s why I’m waiting for a 26 Ecoboost FWD. Lived in Northern Wisconsin and had RWD F150’s and Rams. Snow tires and never a problem. Heck I barely use the 4x4 on my Wrangler.
