Definitely use ECO mode... the only thing is does is increase the engine braking when you let off the gas. I get 46mpg driving around in FL (level roads, never cold, mostly 45mph speed limits). The mileage will DEFINITELY improve as you break it in more....sure did on mine. And when I am at a...
Let's not forget that the cheap plastics in the interior actually look pretty decent for a vehicle which was the lowest cost vehicle in the entire ford lineup when it was released in 2022. And also, it is a truck after all, and if you use it as a truck, some scratches are inevitable.
You know that the dash rattle is a simple fix. There is a TSB that shows you where to put a couple of foam blocks to stop it. I bought high density weather strip on Amazon and cut to the dimensions in the TSB and fixed it myself in 20 minutes. If you search the forum, you can find the TSB...
When plugging in, I have found you need to wait until the ford system finishes booting up, and then maybe 5-10 seconds more and then plug in the cable. Works every time for me. Never have an issue. Also, if you want to mount your phone, I really like PopSocket. They have a nice small thing...
I have to disagree on that point. When I ride with my younger nephew, as soon he gets in the car, the first thing he does is plug in his phone to charge it. I have no interest in wireless android auto because if I am taking a longer trip, i want the phone plugged in and charging. And for a...
The other reason the engine temperature is low is because it is not even running half the time. If you were going 80mph on the highway for an hour, the temp will be higher because then the gas engine will run all the time.
Yes, I have the same cover and love it. Florida torrential downpours don't get in to bed once I did put a small piece of the foam right where that finger is pointing and ALSO a similar small piece of foam down at the tailgate end where there was a similar small gap...probably like 1/8 x 1/4"...
That goo you put on your panel is because of the dissimilar metals from copper to AL. If you use an AL Lug on the AL Wire, you should not need it. If you use a copper lug, then it would be a good idea.
Something you might want to tell your dealer.... do not order a new cable - it might have the same problem. My dealer (Walker Ford in Clearwater FL), said they just got a new lug and "crimped the hell out of it" to replace the faulty lug. Better to fix the cable... because it is not the...
I think it has the best lane keeping assist I have driven. I turn off the warning, and it just kind of gently moves you back in the lane without pinballing you down the road like a lot of rental cards I have tried it on. I find the blind spot monitor works fine... you have to glance at the...
I drove from Florida to Virginia and back and averaged over 38 mpg going 78 mph. On the way up during the daytime, when I hit slower traffic, the mileage was even better and the battery will power the truck up to about 65 mph or so (like if going downhill or seeing a slowdown ahead and backing...
My dealer did mention something to me that there was supposed to be a TSB on this bad cable connection problem. I have not tried to look that up to see if it is really issued, but that's what my service writer mentioned. Seems like Ford won't want to be replacing $700 cables when the problem...
It seems like the problem is that ford tried to spot weld the aluminum cable to the battery terminal lugs on that cable... which is a stupid idea to begin with... so replacing the harness is the wrong answer.... all they need to do is replace the cable terminals with new crimp on lugs. There...
It must be just for the ecoboost engine... the service advisor at the dealer even tried looking it up and then he looked at the truck and agreed there is nothing in there... which means there is no way to put the truck in Neutral if the power is dead (except that putting a jump box on the truck...
You don't even WANT a new harness... it might just have the same problem.... there is nothing wrong with the harness... it's just the connector lug on the end.... so remove that lousy one and put on a new crimp on lug and be done with it. That's what my dealer is doing.
I was actually wondering about that, but with a small jump box, you could probably find somewhere under the hood that it would be able to stay put and leave it connected the whole time as a way to get home or to a dealer... since that would BE the 12V battery, and since it does not have any...
Has anyone tried this? My truck died and I pulled that little access port open and reached in there and looked with a flashlight, and the only thing I saw was a wire harness... no "Tether" to pull and no white button to push to return it back to normal.
XLT Luxury / CoPilot360 Died in Driveway. 99% sure is battery harness issue. Service writer told me that ford now has a TSB on the harness issue. No word yet on how long it will take to get my truck back.
UPDATE: Towed it to dealer monday and got it back Wednesday. It was the harness...
My XLT Luxury/co-pilot 360 truck was dead in my driveway Friday. No power at all, no lights no nothing. Battery voltage was 12.6V which is fine. But when I measured the voltage at the jump start terminal under the hood, it was 2.5V. This is proof that the cable from the battery to the...
